Overview
For over 50 years, the alpine village of Leysin perched high above Lake Geneva, has been at the heart of the Village Camps Summer Camp programme. The camp has welcomed hundreds thousands of youngsters from all over the world. With campers typically coming from more than 30 different countries in each two week session ensuring campers easily make new international friends.
Accommodation is at the Village Camps owed and operated Swiss Alpine Centre from where campers enjoy a friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation and hearty meals. From the sunny south-facing terraces there are amazing, panoramic views over to the distant French Alps. The Centre is the base for the Village Camps specialty programmes for children from 7-17 years old offering a wide-ranging choice of fun-packed programmes. These include the most popular Adventure Camp, Sports Camp, VC-STEM Camp, Tennis Camp, Language Camps, and the award-winning Leadership Training courses.
Everyone will have time to enjoy the pure mountain air and the natural environment of this alpine paradise with its meadows, forests and lakes. Highlights include a hike and stay in an overnight mountain hut as well as various different excursions in and around the Lac Leman area.

Village Camps has over the years ingeniously crafted language-learning programmes designed to fully engage the campers. An exciting range of projects, tasks, quizzes, competitions and games inspires the interest and ensures the involvement of every camper.
Emphasis is on gaining confidence and improving vocabulary so that they acquire fluency, engage in conversation and develop the skills and confidence to make a presentation to an audience. Campers learn from new material that takes them outside their usual comfort zone while stimulating their interest, providing them with new skills. Campers enjoy learning to speak together in class and in camp with native speaking campers.

At Village Camps, each camper selects a destination and a specialized program tailored to their interests. Morning sessions (3 hours) are dedicated to immersive learning in their chosen program, whether it’s sports, language, arts, or adventure activities. In the afternoons and evenings, campers from all programs come together for an exciting mix of general camp activities, fostering friendships and cultural exchange. Ready to explore? Accommodation & facilities
At just an hour’s drive from Geneva International Airport the Swiss Alpine Centre is located in Leysin, high in the Swiss Alps. From its sunny terraces, common rooms and many of the bedrooms right the centre offers spectacular views across the Rhone Valley to the dramatic French Alps and the peak of Mont Blanc. Right at our doorstep there are walking and hiking paths to the green alpine meadows with colourful flowers, wildlife and the invigorating fresh mountain air.
The centre welcomes up to 180 campers from all over the world for the speciality programmes with the exception of the Leadership Training Camp (LTC). Leadership Training Camp (LTC) is designed for 15-17 years old and takes place at the Alpine Classic Hotel, a first-class facility in the centre of Leysin.
Campers are assigned to rooms according to age and gender. Experienced counsellors (who stay in rooms near the campers) are responsible for taking special care of each and every camper.

Counsellors are enthusiastic young people from around the world and their role at camp is to take care of your children making sure they are comfortable, safe and happy at all times. They must be above 21+ years old in order to be considered for a position in the residential camps; the majority are in the age frame 21-35. Counsellors bring with them a variety of cultures and languages, creating a wonderful international environment, a Village Camps trade mark!
Staff Members meet certain strict requirements and have valuable certified skills necessary for the camp activities. All of them speak English and many speak several other languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Italian, Chinese, Greek, Turkish, Japanese, Portuguese, Polish, etc.
The serious recruiting process which includes reference-checking and a personal interview ensure that only the best of the best will be taken on as counsellors. Before the summer begins, everyone goes through a rigorous training process developed and perfected through 51 years of Village Camps experience!
Village Camps updates the Mobile Phone Policy each year and would be happy to send you a copy of the current policy at anytime.
Location
The nearest airport to Village Camps – Leysin, Switzerland is Geneva Airport. Airport pickup is available upon request. For our Leysin camp we can welcome children at Geneva Airport where we will escort them up to camp either by train or bus. If campers are flying using the Unaccompanied Minor service we are able to provide the details of our airport manager to ensure a smooth pick up. Please contact us for the available time frames for this service.
