Pyrene Summer Camp runs this residential camp in Lles de Cerdanya, Spain. The camp welcomes children aged 7–10, with sports, languages, and adventure on the programme. 6 sessions scheduled Jun 20 – Jul 31, 2027, each lasting 6 nights. Activities run in English and Spanish.
Minairons is Pyrene Summer Camp's week-long adventure for the youngest campers, children aged 7 to 10, and it is built around the simple idea of a big adventure for the small ones of the camp. Children live outdoors in the mountains of the Cerdanya valley in the Pyrenees, camping in the middle of the woods, walking with nature and discovering what a night sky and a windy summit really feel like. Groups stay small, with 24 places per weekly shift, and the children are accompanied by local monitors from these same valleys who are professionals in education and sport, alongside native English-speaking monitors from the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Around a third of the participants come from abroad, so Catalan, Spanish and English are all heard around camp and English is picked up naturally while playing and exploring rather than in a classroom. Running since 2010 and deliberately low-impact, from solar-heated water to foldable facilities that leave the forest as it was, it is a first taste of independence in wild surroundings for children who are ready to leave their phone behind.
Not provided
Minairons runs as a full week in the woods, with the group of up to 24 children aged 7 to 10 living and moving together rather than picking separate electives. The programme grew out of a blend of volunteer camps, non-formal education and classic summer camp traditions, so days are built around shared outdoor life in the Pyrenees: walking with nature, discovering the valley, and learning to look after oneself and the group in a wild setting. Monitors from these same valleys lead the week alongside native English-speaking staff, which means English, Catalan and Spanish all thread naturally through the activities. The pace is adapted to the youngest campers, so the adventure feels big while the group stays small and closely accompanied, and the camp's low-impact habits, from recycling to solar-heated water, are part of what the children practise every day.

Children are accompanied by a team of monitors who live and work in these Pyrenean valleys and are professionals in education and in sport, joined each summer by native English-speaking monitors from the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Each weekly shift of Minairons is capped at 24 children, which keeps the group small enough for the youngest campers to be known individually and to feel at home quickly in the mountains.

Where your child sleeps
Nights are spent camping in the middle of the woods, which is very much part of the experience rather than an afterthought: children fall asleep under the trees of the Cerdanya valley and wake up in the mountains. The camp's facilities are mobile and foldable so that the forest is left exactly as it was found, and hot water for washing is heated by solar panels, with no CO2 emissions.
Amenities
Forest campsite in the mountains of the Cerdanya valley, Pyrenees
The campsite sits in the woods of the Cerdanya valley, deep in the Pyrenees, and it is designed to leave as little trace as possible. Everything is mobile and foldable so the forest returns to itself once the summer ends, hot water comes from solar panels, all waste is recycled, and the camp makes use of existing public facilities instead of building new ones. Food and supplies are bought from responsible local producers, so the valley community is part of camp life too.
