Pyrene Summer Camp runs this residential camp in Lles de Cerdanya, Spain. The camp welcomes children aged 10–13, with languages on the programme. 2 sessions scheduled Jun 20 – Jul 24, 2027, each lasting 6 nights. Activities run in English and Spanish.
Bike Júnior by Orbea is a week-long mountain-bike camp in the Cerdanya valley of the Catalan Pyrenees, built for riders aged 10 to 13 who want to spend seven days discovering the mountains from the saddle. The week is one long ride through the valley: crossing forests, following rivers, hopping over rocks and arriving at the little Romanesque churches tucked into these hillsides, always on the hidden trails and footpaths that only local guides know. Groups are deliberately small, with twenty riders per week, and children sleep at the Pyrene campsite in the middle of the woods, a low-impact camp of foldable facilities and solar-heated water. English runs through the whole experience, with native English-speaking monitors from the United States, Canada and Great Britain riding alongside local monitors who are trained in education and sport. Orbea mountain bikes and helmets can be rented for the week, so a child can arrive with nothing more than a willingness to pedal until their legs give out.
This is a single-focus week: twenty riders aged 10 to 13 spend seven days on mountain bikes, discovering the Cerdanya valley and the Pyrenees by pedal rather than sampling a rotation of different sports. Days follow the rhythm of a riding trip, heading out from the campsite in the woods along forest trails, riverside paths and hidden singletrack, and returning to camp life and camp evenings together. Pyrene partners with Orbea, so riders use proper trail machines, with the hardtail Laufey 29 and the full-suspension Occam H30 available to rent complete with helmet for those who do not bring their own bike. Local monitors who live and ride in these valleys lead the routes alongside native English-speaking monitors, so the language of the group is as much part of the week as the kilometres. The same bike programme runs in an older version, Big Bike by Orbea, for 14 to 17 year olds.
Children ride with a team of local monitors who live in these valleys and know the trails, and who are professionals in education and sport; alongside them are native English-speaking monitors from the United States, Canada and Great Britain. The bike group is kept small at twenty participants per week, which keeps the pace of the rides and the attention given to each young rider manageable.
Pyrene asks children to leave the screen behind for the week: the invitation is to forget about the phone and connect instead with the mountains, with new friends and with themselves, so days are spent on the trails and evenings in camp rather than online.

The camp sleeps under canvas at the Pyrene campsite, set in the middle of the woods in the Cerdanya valley. The whole site is built from mobile, foldable facilities so that the forest is left exactly as it was found, and hot water for showers comes from solar panels rather than fuel.
Campsite in the woods of the Cerdanya valley, in the Catalan Pyrenees
Home for the week is a campsite pitched among the trees of the Cerdanya valley, deliberately built to leave no trace: the facilities are mobile and foldable, hot water is heated by solar panels with no CO2 emissions, all waste is recycled, and the camp makes use of existing public facilities rather than building new ones. Food and supplies come from responsible local suppliers in the valley.

Getting your child there
Barcelona–El Prat Airport
Pickup service · For families flying in, the camp runs a transfer from Barcelona–El Prat airport up to the Cerdanya valley. Staff meet international participants at the airport every Sunday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and bring them back for drop-off every Saturday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The transfer is booked as an option at the time of enrolment, in each direction separately or as a return.
Puigcerdà railway station
Pickup service · The most sustainable way in: take the R3 Rodalies line from Barcelona to Puigcerdà and the camp team collects your child straight from the platform for the short ride to the campsite. The station transfer is booked with the camp as a one-way or return option.
Latour-de-Carol – Enveitg station
Pickup service · Families travelling from elsewhere in Europe can come by SNCF to Latour-de-Carol – Enveitg, on the French side of the border and only minutes from the valley; the camp picks participants up at the station so the adventure begins the moment they leave home.
Barcelona city and surrounding area
Pickup service · A road transfer is also offered from Barcelona and its surrounding area for children not flying in, booked at enrolment as an outbound trip, a return trip or both, with the camp team accompanying the group up to the Cerdanya valley.
