Residential Spanish camp in Cantabria, Spain
100% English summer camps where children sleep in large, spacious tents surrounded by the best environment possible: nature. In this setting, they not only have an amazing time through a wide variety of workshops and activities, but also learn about sustainability and environmental awareness. A 1- or 2-week experience full of discoveries, laughter, friendships, off-the-beaten-path excursions… and many more adventures! While many participants come from Spain, we have children from other countries as well creating a truly international environment. This allows English to be used naturally, both during activities and in free time, as children interact with one another. Our goal is practical English for international communication, empowering children gain confidence and connect with peers from different cultures. Children may also pick up some Spanish informally, adding an extra cultural dimension to their experience. Activities such as Forest Survivor, Olimpic Water Games, AcroYoga, and Ecobuilding come together to create our added value: having a fantastic time while reconnecting with nature and learning about important concepts such as circular economy, sustainability, orienteering, and how to care for a garden. All of this takes place in English with our native and bilingual instructors. At NewPa, our immersion programs are characterised by the dedication and care we put into designing and developing each activity and learning experience. Most of our educational materials are handmade, prioritising sustainable and recycled resources in order to transmit values such as responsibility and respect.

The programme is built around workshops and activities in fixed small groups, with one lead monitor acting as mentor to every six to nine children, so each camper is known well by a specific adult for the whole stay. Days flow between hands-on workshops, hiking and outdoor challenges on the estate, kitchen duty as Responsible MasterChefs and evening campfire and music sessions, with the camp itself, tents, dining marquee, washing facilities, rebuilt from scratch each summer by the team. Language runs underneath all of it: English is the only working language, spoken by bilingual and native monitors and international volunteers, with Spanish kept for emergencies or genuine need, and a Spanish-immersion group is arranged for families who want it instead. The learning is deliberately experiential and cooperative rather than classroom-based, aimed at personal autonomy and responsible consumption in the younger children and critical thinking in the teenagers, always through education in values. What sets it apart is the ethical thread the operator is open about: Sustainable Development Goals in every activity, materials made from recycling and reuse, local suppliers, prices kept as low as possible and a deliberately above-market wage for the monitors who make it all work.

Este campamento de inglés en plena naturaleza ha sido una experiencia increíble, de las mejores que he vivido. Desde el primer día, el ambiente fue súper acogedor y divertido. Los monitores eran nativos o tenían un nivel altísimo, y hacían que aprender inglés fuera algo natural, sin presión y a través de juegos, actividades y convivencia diaria. El entorno era espectacular: rodeado de montañas, bosques y aire puro, perfecto para desconectar y disfrutar. Hicimos un montón de actividades como senderismo, deportes al aire libre, juegos en equipo y veladas nocturnas, todo en inglés, lo que ayudaba muchísimo a mejorar sin darte cuenta. Sin duda, lo recomendaría al 100% a cualquiera que quiera mejorar su inglés mientras vive una experiencia única, hace amigos y disfruta de la naturaleza. ¡Repetiría sin pensarlo!

¡Hola a todos! He tenido la gran oportunidad de haber compartido una experiencia maravillosa en este campamento. Las personas encargadas y organizadoras son súper amables y encantadoras; se esmeran para que todos los jóvenes y personas que están allí se diviertan y creen momentos inolvidables. La primera impresión fue la mejor que pude presenciar; los monitores se encargaban de hacer sentir cómodos a esas personitas que no eran muy buenas con las palabras o que simplemente eran más tímidas, las personas extrovertidas llenaban con su alegría a los demás y eran el alma de la fiesta. Todos los días que pasé allí fueron momentos que recordaré durante toda mi vida, ya que me hizo crecer y mejorar como persona, me hizo dar cuenta que la felicidad se puede encontrar de diferentes maneras y que siempre es bueno dar una oportunidad. Estoy encantadísima de haber podido vivir experiencias maravillosas con todos aquellos que se volvieron familia en el primer segundo que nos conocimos. ¡Estoy profundamente agradecida con todos vosotros!

Mi hija lleva tres años participando en los campamentos de verano de NewPa Summer Camps. Ella está encantada y siempre quiere repetir. Es un campamento en el que el equipo de monitores y educadores, la organización, las actividades y los valores que les transmiten durante esos 15 días son increíbles: convivencia, relaciones personales reales, sin pantallas ni redes sociales por medio, desarrollo del día a día en plena naturaleza, compromiso y responsabilidad en las tareas más cotidianas, y las dinámicas en grupo. Estoy encantada. Aunque pensaba que mi hija, ya entrada en la adolescencia, no querría ya ir, está deseando que llegue el momento. Se lo recomiendo a todo el mundo.

We have extensive experience supporting children with medical conditions (allergies, coeliac disease, diabetes, etc.). Our entire staff team is trained to manage these situations safely and responsibly. We also ensure that the specific needs and relevant information about each child are clearly communicated to the team, so that everyone is aware of the necessary precautions and each child can feel safe, well cared for, and able to fully enjoy the camp experience. 😊

Healthy, sustainable snacks are part of the five daily meals.
Children are on full board with five meals a day, built around a healthy and sustainable diet that leans on local suppliers with no intermediaries. Rather than simply being served, campers step into the role of Responsible MasterChefs: they take turns in the camp kitchen in very small, closely supervised working groups, preparing food and discovering where it comes from, which is often the moment fussy eaters surprise their parents. Allergies and intolerances are handled with strict care and precaution, and the kitchen and dining marquee are part of the camp the team builds on the estate each summer.
Screen time policy
Our camp follows a no mobile phone policy for participants. Disconnecting from screens helps children fully engage with the camp experience, nature, and their peers. The camp is designed as a digital detox environment, encouraging real-life interaction, creativity, and presence in the moment. Families are informed about this policy in advance, and we maintain communication channels with families (emails and photps folder) and parents can contact the camp team if necessary. Our philosophy is simple: “No news is good news”. Children are encouraged to immerse themselves in the experience while families can trust that they are well cared for.

Our Summer Camps take place in the beautiful Barrio Trasvía of Comillas, on a flat private piece of land where we set up the entire camp from scratch at the start of each season and dismantle it at the end. This includes tents, kitchen and dining areas, workshop materials, shade marquee, chill-out, dry toilets, and outdoor showers – everything needed to create a safe and comfortable camp environment. Sleeping arrangements: - Children stay in spacious bell tents, with 5–7 participants per tent depending on age and size. - Each tent is supervised by a dedicated monitor, ensuring personalized attention, safety, and support throughout the stay. The land offers plenty of open space for activities and workshops, providing a secure and practical base for children to enjoy nature, explore, and make the most of their summer experience. Our setup allows the camp to be fully self-contained, safe, and welcoming, giving children a sense of adventure while keeping comfort and practicality in mind.

Camp takes place on a large estate in Comillas, right next to the Pontifical Seminary, in the green countryside of Cantabria's Western Coast. There is no permanent building complex here: the team builds the whole camp from scratch every summer, raising the dining marquee, the kitchen, the materials and workshop areas, the washing facilities, the shaded corners and a chill-out space, so children live in a place they can see being made and cared for. Sleeping is in roomy English-style bell tents, and the site uses dry toilets and outdoor fresh-water showers in keeping with the camp's environmental thinking. The estate itself opens onto spectacular walking routes, which is where much of the hiking and orienteering happens. For peace of mind, the local health centre is only a few minutes away and Sierrallana hospital is around 25 minutes by road.

Drop-off at the camp estate in Comillas
Families driving in head for the estate at Paseo Llorens Masdeu 30, Barrio Trasvia, 39520 Comillas, beside the Pontifical Seminary. Stays run from Sunday to Saturday, with teenagers arriving on Sunday afternoon and leaving around midday on Saturday. A few weeks before camp starts, families are invited to an information meeting where last-minute questions are answered and children meet some of the monitors who will welcome them on the first day, and parents are then invited back to see the site for themselves on the final day of camp. · Paseo Llorens Masdeu, 30, 39520, Cantabria
