ENSR International Summer Camp

The camp is built around a single choice that parents make at registration: either the Language Studies, Sports and Leisure programme, where mornings are given to French or English classes in groups of no more than seven students, or the Multisports and Leisure programme for children who would rather spend their whole day on sport and challenge. Whichever route a child takes, afternoons belong to the activity programme, with sport, climbing, the adventure park, swimming and outings in and around Champéry organised by age, so the 8 to 11 year olds of the Junior Camp follow a rhythm suited to them while the 12 to 18 year olds take on more. Free time of around two hours every second day gives campers space to book an extra tennis lesson, a ride at the stables or a paragliding flight, or simply to relax in the common rooms of the Hôtel Suisse with their new friends. Because the village sports centre is two minutes from the front door, the day flows easily between chalet, courts and mountain trails without long transfers. With a genuinely international mix of nationalities and sixty years of camp experience behind the Lausanne school that runs it, the programme balances real progress, whether linguistic or sporting, with the sociable side of a summer in the Alps.
