4 Elements Galicia offers ultimate outdoor experiences fusing language & nature. With a maximum of 12 children per Forest School camp and 20 children per residential camp, we ensure a personalized experience where every child feels seen, supported, and connected. At our Forest School camps, children aged between 4-8 have the chance to explore, play, and create in the heart of the forest. Each week has its own theme – from Sticks and Stones to The Very Hungry Caterpillar – inspiring stories, crafts, woodwork, rope work, outdoor cooking, tree-climbing and even a theatre workshop with a performance at the end of the week on our woodland stage. At our residential camps for children aged 8+ participants can dive into exciting activities like surfing and canoeing under the guidance of experienced instructors. They’ll also enjoy age-appropriate, safety-assessed adventures in the woods, along the river, and on the beautiful nearby beaches. Disconnected from the internet and immersed in nature in our cozy and purposefully designed accommodations which combine the charm of nature with the comfort of home- perfect for both relaxation and adventure. By mixing English and Spanish-speaking children in a residential setting, we create the perfect environment for full language immersion. Your child’s new international friends become their best teachers! Language sessions are guided by native-speaking instructors, but outside the classroom, the children practice naturally through play, teamwork, and conversation. At 4 Elements Galicia the mix of languages and cultures fosters inclusivity, leaving no room for cliques. Daily stagework on our woodland stage encourages self-exploration and personal growth. Comfort zones are challenged- and often surprisingly surpassed! Days follow a clear but unhurried shape rather than a menu of electives: a movement session such as yoga, mindfulness or forest gym, a block of on-site activities, one off-site activity like river canoeing or surfing with beach games, a two-hour language class, group time for games and project work, and free-time sessions on the beach, at the site or in the woods, with meals, room time for reading, chatting and personal hygiene, and sleep framing it all. Everything is planned session by session, each camp built around a topic or theme that gives the week a backbone, and the language class itself is pitched at what campers will actually need to say that day, usually taken outside into games and role-play. Spanish and English speakers are separated only for those classes; the rest of the time nationalities are deliberately mixed at the table, in the dormitories and in every pairing for challenges, projects and meal preparation. Two threads give each week its arc: an all-day excursion, usually a section of the Camino de Santiago or a local mountain followed by cricket at the beach, and a theatre show the children script, cast, costume and stage themselves for a final performance. Groups stay small, with an adult-to-child ratio never lower than 1:6, and children are encouraged to try things at their own pace, with an engaging alternative always offered rather than any pressure to join in.

Fantastic outdoor location in a beautiful Galician forest — perfect for anyone wanting to immerse in pure nature, breathe clean air, and feel truly nourished. The camp offers a handmade, thoughtful curriculum with amazing activities such as canoeing, surfing, hiking, swimming in the river, sleeping in tents, and creating outdoor theatre. The staff are warm, engaging, and inspiring. Our kids not only learned English and Spanish, but also opened up socially, enjoying communication with everyone and connecting with different cultures. This is by far the best summer camp our kids have ever experienced. Thank you, Francis and the whole team — 5 thumbs up!

We were so fortunate to find 4Elements and Francis and Diana! Our older daughter (8) attended the overnight camp and our younger daughter (5) attended the day camp. They both loved the experience, as did we for them! A small size, in a beautiful place, with wonderful people, fostering independence (for our older one especially!) and more exposure in a natural setting to Spanish. We are hoping very much to be able to bring them back!

All of our grounds and activities are fully risk assessed prior to each visit, and at the end of each day. During sleeping hours one monitor is on site, metres away ensuring 24hr supervision. At 4 Elements Galicia we work with fully trained, experienced organisations and individuals with excellent safety management systems. They comply to regional and national authority safety guidelines, with up-to-date First Aid training specific to the activity and with clean police records. Our detailed Health and Safety Plan is available on request.

Eating together is treated as part of the programme rather than a break from it. Residential campers sit down to three full meals a day plus a mid-morning and an afternoon snack, all cooked by a local chef who builds a varied, balanced menu around high-quality produce sourced nearby. New flavours and Galician recipes tend to become a talking point, and children are encouraged to lend a hand: helping prepare food, laying and decorating the table, and contributing their own family specialities. Some meals are eaten outdoors around handmade chestnut wood picnic tables, and the walk across the river to the village bakery to collect the barras is part of the routine. Specific dietary requirements are collected in the Welcome Pack before arrival so the cook and monitors know in advance and tasty alternatives are ready.

Summer Forest School Camp Our camp takes place in purposefully designed forest installations that offer inspiring outdoor spaces where children naturally find their place within the group and seek discovery and adventure. From cozy spots to unwind to engaging activities and areas to explore, there’s something for every child to enjoy. Nestled among native oak and hazel trees, our forest is the perfect setting for climbing, exploring, and connecting with nature. In the heart of the woods, children can enjoy their lunch beneath our handcrafted chestnut-wood shelter, complete with handmade picnic tables sized for little adventurers. A beautifully decorated bell tent provides a peaceful retreat — a place to rest, listen to stories, or take shelter from the rain. Our woodland theatre, a stunning structure hidden among the trees, invites children to challenge themselves, express their creativity, and quite literally take centre stage. The forest is also home to two log circles for campfires and outdoor cooking, along with rope swings and natural play features that inspire endless imagination and meaningful forest play. International Residential Summer Camp Accommodation & Facilities Our residential summer camp welcomes up to 17 overnight campers and 3–5 day campers, creating a warm, family-style environment surrounded by nature. Accommodation The main cabin building includes four comfortable rooms: Room 1: Sleeps up to 8 campers in bunks with an en-suite washroom, private WCs, and three showers. Room 2: Sleeps 5 campers in bunks with two private en-suite shower rooms. Room 3: Reserved for a monitor, ensuring safety and supervision. Room 4: Sleeps 4 campers with an en-suite washroom and two showers. A converted stable studio provides extra space for workshops and creative activities. We also have large 10-person bell tents for outdoor camp nights, giving campers the chance to experience sleeping under the stars in comfort and safety.
