Every day at camp follows the same reassuring rhythm: mornings belong to music, afternoons to discovery. After the Early Bird Club settles everyone in from 08:00, children move into a welcome and music games session before two 45-minute 'Learn Together, Play Together' sessions on guitar, violin or ukulele, led by specialist string teachers who take complete beginners and more advanced players side by side. A 30-minute snack break with outdoor play and a full hour for lunch break up the day, and then two carefully planned workshops built around the week's theme carry things through to pick-up, with up to twelve interactive workshops rotating across the week so children try something new each day. Everything is screen-free and planned by the Activities Manager, an experienced teacher completing a PhD in Education, and mapped against the club's 'Your Child's Development is Key' framework covering musicianship, physical development, communication and language, and personal, social and emotional development. Children aged 4-7 follow the EYFS-aligned 'Minis' programme with a named Key Person, while 8-11s get age-specific activities of their own, and at selected venues the Strum Stars camp gives Years 3-6 jam sessions, electric guitar and a Friday Silent Disco. The week builds towards the Grand Concert on Friday at 3:30pm, where each child performs what they have learnt and takes home a certificate.

At The Strings Club, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for every child, staff member, and family. Our Code of Conduct and safety protocols are designed to promote wellbeing, positive behaviour, and safeguarding at all times. Respectful Behaviour & Zero Tolerance All staff and children are expected to treat one another with respect and kindness at all times. We have a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, harassment, discrimination, or aggressive behaviour from children or their parents/carers. In rare and serious cases, The Strings Club reserves the right to exclude a child or terminate a customer account to maintain the safety and wellbeing of others. No refunds will be issued in such instances. Behaviour Management We use clear, consistent and positive strategies to encourage positive behaviour and support each child. Rules and expectations are agreed upon with children and displayed clearly to encourage engagement and accountability. We work closely with parents and schools to reinforce positive behaviour and address any concerns. Safeguarding Safeguarding is central to everything we do. All staff and volunteers undergo safer recruitment checks and share our commitment to child protection. Each venue has a Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) and clear procedures for reporting any concerns. We follow statutory safeguarding guidelines and report any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities without delay. Investigations and Reporting Any allegations involving staff or safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and acted upon immediately. Our team is trained to recognise, report and respond to concerns sensitively and appropriately.
Screen time policy
We’re a proudly screen-free camp! We recognise that children are increasingly familiar with the use of mobile phones in society and many have their own device. We also recognise the potential risks involved with owning and using a mobile phone. Our Holiday Camps are a screen-free zone and therefore The Strings Club enforces that all mobile phones and electronic devices are prohibited when on site.

Holiday Camp hours run from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with the Early Bird Club opening the doors at 08:00 for a calm start to the day. One week before camp you receive a single Essential Information email covering the team, the timetable, the exact location and parking, along with the Holiday Camp Manager's direct number so you can check in at any point during the day. On Friday, plan to be back for the Grand Concert at 3:30pm.
