RV Golf Schools - St Andrews Summer Camp

The week runs to a clear rhythm: campers arrive on the Sunday, and from Monday every morning is given to around three hours of coaching and practice at Elmwood Golf Club before lunch, with afternoons out on a course playing golf and evenings back at McIntosh Hall for relaxed social activities until lights off at 10pm. Players are placed in a camp stream rather than choosing electives, so the programme fits their age and ability: Development for 7 to 11 year olds as a day camp, the Ultimate Camp for 12 to 18 year olds of all abilities in groups of up to eight, and the High Performance Camp for lower-handicap 14 to 18 year olds coached in groups of four with one-to-one time. Coaching groups deliberately combine in the afternoon on the course, which is where friendships form across the streams and where the technical work of the morning gets tested over a real round. Five rounds a week on a minimum of three different courses means the emphasis is as much on course strategy, adaptability and playing in genuine Scottish links conditions as it is on the swing. Older golfers aged 19 to 21 can join as camp interns, shadowing the PGA professionals and helping the residential team. Throughout, the pastoral team looks after life in the hall so the week feels like a family holiday with a serious golf programme inside it.
