With over 100 years of history and tradition, Camp Jeanne d'Arc brings together the magic of sleepaway camp with the timeless values of Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc): faith, endurance, courage, and confidence. Our campers are surrounded by a supportive community of women and girls in a family-like environment, where they can step out of their comfort zones, explore new activities, and build meaningful connections with nature, themselves, and others. Whether sailing on Chateaugay Lake, stepping up as team captain, participating in an overnight campout, joining a mindfulness workshop, or signing up for the summer play, campers experience endless opportunities for fun, growth, and self-discovery.

Camp Jeanne d'Arc is a traditional girls' sleepaway camp, and its programme is built on the idea that a summer should hold adventure, personal growth and genuine downtime in equal measure. Girls come for stays of two, three, four, five or seven weeks, which gives them time to move beyond a first try at something and actually progress — working toward an archery pin, earning a place in senior sailing club, or persevering on waterskis. Much of the day is shaped by what each girl signs up for, whether that is joining the cast of the summer play, taking a mindfulness workshop, heading out on an overnight campout or stepping up as a team captain, so no two campers' summers look quite the same. The rhythm of camp life is held together by shared traditions such as flag-raising, singing at campfire and family-style dining, which turn a week of activities into a sense of belonging. Set on 100 acres of woods, fields and waterfront on Chateaugay Lake, and run in a small, family-like community of women and girls, the programme deliberately nudges campers a little outside their comfort zone in a place where it feels safe to try.

In my (13 yo) daughter's words: "Camp Jeanne d'Arc changed my life. Between the never ending friendships, new skills, and important lessons, this is a magical place. Those three things might sound like something that a grill could take away from any camp, but don't be mistaken. The second you step foot onto JDA's oasis and breathe in the fresh, forest-infused air, you will see what I mean. This sleep away is alive with a special sort of energy that you will remember forever. Through Jeanne d'Arc, I have learned how to be a more faithful, confident, and courageous young woman, and it is awe-inspiring to see other girls grow in the same way. Camp Jeanne d'Arc will always hold a special place in my heart.

Our daughters have been going to CDJA for years and couldn’t be happier. From the different sports and art activities, to the multiple friends they’ve met over the years CJDA has been a key part of their summers and something we are certain they will never forget. Camp Jeanne D’Arc in the NY Adirondacks is the GREATEST girls camp ever!! It was founded for girls in 1922. I spent many summers there making friendships that have lasted 40 years and counting. My daughter will be in her fifth summer and loves it just as much! Counselors and campers come from US and abroad. The camp directors Randy and Sandy are warm and committed to making sure the girls treat each other with kindness and participate in activities to build confidence while having fun. Girls are able to be themselves at this camp in a way I have not seen or heard anywhere else! Randy provides excellent communication about camp information and updates on happenings at camp before, during and after camp. You can even see photos everyday of your camper. The grounds are beautiful and expansive on the shores of Lake Chateaugay. The cabins are modeled after Swiss chalets nestled in the trees around camp. Views of the mountains are stunning and the air is always fresh and never too hot or too cold. Girls can choose from swimming, SUP, sailing, canoeing, waterskiing, tubing, horseback riding, archery, BBs, arts and crafts, theme nights, team competitions, talent shows, and tons of 100-year old traditions. The strength of quality programming at this camp is the true hidden gem. Lots of different session lengths-starter sessions, 2 weeks, 3.5 weeks, 5 weeks, and 7 weeks. Tours and camp visits available. My daughter Callie has been going to this camp for 4 summers. She originally signs up for half summers but ends up staying for the whole summer because she’s having so much fun. Our family loves this camp so much! It is beautiful and full of outdoor adventure, friendships and new experiences our city girl wouldn’t get anywhere else. Sandy and Randy are amazing and a perfect team. CJDA is A++++++++++

All staff are CPR and First-Aid certified and all camp employees are background checked. We have a medical professional onsite 24/7 and we are inspected by the New York Health Department before and during camp. We have access to two urgent care facilities, and two hospitals within 45 min. Our preferred hospital is CPVH, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.

Meals at Camp Jeanne d'Arc are served family-style, with girls sitting together at tables, passing dishes and singing grace before they eat — one of the camp's oldest and most cherished traditions, and often where the day's news and plans get shared. The kitchen keeps to hearty, familiar camp cooking that hungry girls actually want after a morning on the water or the riding ring, from french toast at breakfast to burgers and chicken later in the day. And no Adirondack summer would be complete without s'mores around the campfire.

Located on Lake Chateaugay in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. Our camp is comprised of 100-acres of woods, fields, and waterfront; a perfect outdoor playground. All of our Swiss Chalet-style cabins are different, having their own personalities. They have the rustic charm of Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s cottage, with the modern convenience of electricity, large screened windows and indoor bathrooms with hot showers!
