Every Atlas Summer Courses fortnight pairs academic work with a full social and cultural programme run by the on-course pastoral team, so mornings of lessons, seminars or tutorials give way to afternoons and evenings that are already planned but never regimented. The shape of that programme shifts with age: for the youngest students on site it leans towards team building and games that let them burn off energy together, while older groups follow a more professional thread with workshops on CV writing, interview skills, debating and public speaking, plus university fairs, college visits and guest speakers. Students stay with their age group and their small class throughout, which is how friendships form quickly among a cohort drawn from more than 150 nationalities. Full-day excursions, city tours, talent shows and evening socials are set against deliberate stretches of free time, especially for the 16-plus groups, so students practise the independence of moving around a university city responsibly. Days run to a clear rhythm, with breakfast from 07:30, a morning sign-in and a first session at 09:00, and evening activities finishing around 20:00 for the youngest and between 21:30 and 22:00 for those aged 13 and over. The fortnight closes with a formal three-course banquet in a college dining room and a graduation ceremony, a moment many students remember as the high point of the summer.

Phenomenal Experience! Oxford Summer Courses was a phenomenal experience. I especially gained from the tutorial style seminars, as opposed to a lecture seminar. We were expected to learn all of the material prior to the course, and then have a three hour discussion in class, based off of what we read/learned prior. This experience opened my eyes to what learning can be. This style of learning is far more engaging, and likely effective than the mere expectation of hearing material in class and then consuming the information for later regurgitation. This setting fostered critical thinking and emulated a peer-review experience, that is expected in higher academia. I also appreciated and enjoyed being able to engage with my tutor during class, having the time to ask questions and delve into answers. The small class setting made this possible. Lastly, Oxford Summer Courses was a great environment to make friends and acquaintances from different walks of life, with the opportunity to learn about different cultures.

My daughter Erica enjoyed the summer camp so much. She has new friends, enlarges her learning scope, and most important, she knows clearly what her goal is. This is a summer camp beyond my expectation.

Had the time of my life. This experience is so precious to me and I hold it very dear to my heart. I studied the Business and Entrepreneurship 13-15 course and absolutely loved it. My classmates were engaging and the course was made absolutely delightful with my tutor. She made creative activities and held interactive discussions to further my knowledge on business. Apart from the studies, this experience is something I wouldn't trade a thing for. The friends I made... the experiences I had... is something very very dear to me. Attending OSC truly made my 2023 summer the best one I had.

Besides the classes, the friendship I had during two weeks, all the great activities and relevant stuff made my experience much more amazing. I recommend it to everyone who is willing to go and see Oxford's fascinating atmosphere with a very informative course.

Getting your child there
London Heathrow
Pickup service · All Atlas Summer Courses transfers run exclusively from London Heathrow on the official arrival and departure days, where the airport team is stationed at designated meeting points between 9:00 and 16:00 BST; flights timed to land before 15:00 make the last transfer of the day comfortably. Staff are easily identifiable, carry photo identity and an official letter from Atlas Summer Courses, help with luggage and accompany students to the coach or private vehicle that takes them straight to their Oxford college, where on-site staff help them settle in. Families receive full travel details roughly four weeks before the course, including the meeting point, the name and mobile number of the staff member collecting an unaccompanied minor, and emergency contacts; students booked on Premier Transfers are sent their individual driver details in advance. If a flight is delayed the Heathrow team tracks the new arrival time and works within the transfer window, arranging a private transfer or next-day arrival where needed, and the same support applies on departure day with check-in, luggage and airline handover. Students flying into other UK airports need to arrange their own private transport to Oxford, and the team is happy to advise on suitable options and timings.
Arriving by car
Families driving their child to Oxford should plan around the published course times: check-in opens from 14:00 on the first day of the course, and on the final day rooms must be vacated by 10:00 with departure from the site by 12:00. Course dates are inclusive of the arrival and departure days, and students can only be on site between those dates. Parents staying nearby can occasionally meet their child on a free afternoon, provided this is arranged with the team in advance so it does not clash with lessons. · Atlas Summer Courses, 18 Beaumont St, Oxford OX1 2NA, United Kingdom
