Overview
Experience the best in sleep away and day camps with Amplify—an award-winning and American Camp Association Accredited music and arts program! Nestled in the breathtaking Topa Topa Mountains of Ojai, CA, just 1.5 hours from the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Amplify beckons campers from across the U.S. and around the world.
Our affordable 2-week sessions, extendable up to 6 weeks, offer a transformative journey for campers to delve into their passions. Choose from a range of creative focuses, guided by top-notch instructors in music, photography, film (including music video making), theater, music production, skateboarding, dance, choreography, and more.
At Amplify, the adventure doesn’t stop there. Campers craft their own schedules with daily fully elective activities, providing a plethora of options like screen printing, DJing, swimming, beach days, surfing, karaoke, dance parties under the stars and more. Amplify ensures an unforgettable summer, fostering creativity, a deep sense of belonging and friendship in a secure, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. Join us for a summer like no other!
At Amplify, kids have a fantastic time diving into the world of music. They get to learn an instrument (or get more skilled on one they already play), join forces with others to create a band, craft their own original songs, and showcase their talents on stage for the entire camp community. Whether it’s indie, pop, metal, folk, R&B, funk, blues – you name it, our camper bands explore every genre under the sun, embracing their authentic voices.
All of our staff are qualified, highly trained, and hand-picked positive mentors who LOVE CAMP. Amplify staff are an integral part of our ability to provide an award-winning camp experience. In addition to often being experienced experts and educators in their field, most staff have been with us for several years. Our very low staff-to-camper ratio of 1:6 also ensures a level of instruction, engagement, and mentoring that makes the experience unforgettable.

Activities
At Amplify, campers design their own experience! Before arriving, they select a creative “immersive” as their main focus — such as Guitar, Vocals, Bass, Drums, Keys, Photography, Musical Theater, Rock Band Intensive, or Fine Arts. They also pick a “minor” to explore additional passions like Songwriting & Music Production, Filmmaking, Fashion Design, Journalism, Podcasting, Skateboarding, Set Design, Ukulele, Stage Tech, Live Sound Engineering, and more.
Each day blends immersive classes, minors, electives, and camp-wide activities. Campers dive deep into their craft with expert mentorship, while also enjoying fun electives like Creative Arts, Nature Adventures, Water Adventures, Private Lessons, Off-Site Trips, and more. Every session ends with a thrilling Final Showcase, where campers proudly share their creative work — often the highlight of the summer!
Our fully elective program, perfected over more than 10 years, offers every camper a unique, personalized experience, balancing skill-building, creativity, recreation, and exploration — no matter their background or experience level.

Amplify Sleep Away Camp is proudly in residence at Besant Hill School, a beautiful, clean and safe campus in Ojai, CA—only 90 minutes northwest of Los Angeles. The beautiful boarding school boasts 500+ acres of private land (including an 8-acre onsite organic farm!), a swimming pool, state-of-the-art facilities, and nearly 100 years of honoring individuality, critical thinking, creative and artistic passions, global citizenship, and environmental activism. The air is clean and fresh, and our campers and staff alike love spending every summer in the gorgeous, healing Topa Topa Mountain sunshine.

I’m a current 17 year old who’s been involved with all things Girls Rock SB since I was 9!!!! From bass guitar to DJ’ing to starring in music videos to taking photos of Modest Mouse… Girls Rock has given me the most amazing experiences of my life! I’ve attended multiple Amplify Sleepaway camps and AfterSchool sessions and performed at SoHo, Chase Palm Park, and the beautifullllll campus up at Ojai. I’m involved in their GRL Mag internship, Teen Council/Circles Zine making, and I am forever grateful for GRSB and everyone who comes with it Every single year I am always impressed with the new people and experiences I face thanks to Girls Rock
Really loved creating my own song in just one week with the music production track!! The counselors are so uplifting and the environment is super supportive
This is truly the best camp ever! My daughter was introduced to it two years ago, and she fell in love instantly — with the camp, the program, the counselors, everything. She made so many amazing friends and is still in touch with many of them today.
I’ll never forget picking her up that first year: she was literally surrounded by about ten friends and didn’t want to leave! 🤷🏻♀️ And that was her first sleepaway camp experience. She talked about camp nonstop for weeks afterward and counted down the days until she could go back.
This year was just as incredible — even better, actually — because some of the same kids returned, and the sense of community was so strong.
The music program is fantastic. She plays several instruments, and the camp gave her opportunities to grow, explore, and truly enjoy herself.
