Summer Discovery has run pre-college summer programmes for nearly six decades, placing middle school, high school and gifted students on more than 15 university campuses in the United States and abroad, including its longest-running programme at UCLA, now in its 38th year. Programmes are staffed by dedicated summer teams rather than campus volunteers: at UCLA alone, more than 80 campus staff look after students' health, safety and social needs, with a leadership team of an Executive Director, Director, Programming Coordinator, Academic Coordinator and two Head Residential Counselors, plus an office and nurse based in the residence hall. Program specialists are reachable year-round by phone for families planning a summer.

“Amy attended Summer Discovery in 1995 at UVM, where she studied art and physical education. Majoring in biology, she used art as an outlet during her pre-med track at Brown University. Amy went on to obtain her medical degree and become a Board Certified Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon and ophthalmologist. She now owns and runs her own practice in Jacksonville, Florida.”
