Setting your deposit
Updated 9 Oct 2026
Your deposit is the part of the price a family pays first, once you have accepted their booking. You set it under Financials › Booking terms, and it applies to all your camps.
Your choices
- No deposit: the family pays the full price on the dates of your cancellation policy.
- A percentage of the price, for example 20%.
- A fixed amount in your currency, for example CHF 1,000. A fixed deposit is never more than the price of the session: a cheaper session is simply paid in full.
The first time you open the page, we suggest the usual figure for your type of camp — 20% for day camps, 25% for residential camps. It is only a suggestion: enter what you ask today.
Good to know
- The deposit applies to families who pay online through World Camps. If you arrange payment with families directly, there is nothing to set here.
- Your camp page tells families that a deposit applies; they see the exact amount and every payment date before they confirm their booking.
- Once charged, the deposit is non-refundable. Families can cancel for free within 24 hours of sending their request.
- To take no deposit on one camp only, open that camp in the editor, under Safety & Policies, and turn off "Deposit for this camp".
