Activities

Special focus

Multi-activity · Sports & Outdoor

The programme is built around week-long Monday to Friday blocks rather than individual days, so children settle into one group and stay with it for the whole week, which is where the friendships and the confidence tend to come from. Campers are placed by age into Playtime for three and four year olds, Magic for five to seven year olds and Active for eight to twelve year olds, with each group led by a keyworker who explains the day, introduces the site and keeps an eye on how everyone is getting on. Within that structure the day flows through a rotation of multi-activity sessions, creative STEAM projects and British-themed games and challenges, all designed and underpinned by staff training developed with In2Action specialists. Because Camp Beaumont works in partnership with leading international schools, the day makes use of proper school facilities in a secure, familiar setting. The whole programme is deliberately screen-free and holistic, aiming squarely at confidence, social skills and independence, and requests to be grouped with a friend are accommodated where possible while children are actively encouraged to make new ones.

Background-checked staff
Assigned keyworker or group leader for every camper
Age-based groups bubbled at up to 15 children, maximum 24 per group
On-site first aiders administer medication against a signed Medical Administration Form
Nut-aware camp
48-hour exclusion after vomiting or stomach illness
Individual support plans agreed with parents for children needing extra help

Children are looked after in age-based groups, each with a familiar face in charge: every camper is assigned a keyworker in the form of a Head Group Leader or Group Leader who walks them through how the day runs and helps them settle in, and the youngest three and four year olds have a team member checking in on them through the day. Groups are kept small, bubbled at up to 15 children for those aged five and over with a maximum of 24 per group, and the staff-to-group ratio is increased where an activity calls for it. All staff undergo full background checks, and the school campuses used are secure, well-maintained sites. If your child needs medication during camp you complete a Medical Administration Form; medication is stored in the first aid area and given by first aiders at the agreed times. Children who have been sick with vomiting or stomach illness stay away for 48 hours to protect the rest of the group, and campers needing extra support are welcomed through an individual plan agreed with parents before camp.

About World Camps Trust

Meals

lunch

Provided during Summer Camps; allergies and dietary needs should be flagged at booking so alternatives can be arranged.

Lunch is provided at the Summer Camps, so your child simply arrives ready for the day; for other holiday periods the team lets you know in advance whether lunch will be included. Camp Beaumont runs as a nut-aware camp, which means no food items containing nuts may be brought in, and any dietary restrictions or allergies you share at booking are passed to the camp so suitable alternatives can be prepared.

Screen time policy

Camp is deliberately screen-free so that children get the most out of the activities in front of them. Smart phones and smart watches with cameras are not allowed at camp, and if a device must come along for the journey it stays in your child's bag for the whole day, with responsibility for keeping it safe resting with them. The team would rather children left gadgets at home altogether, and encourages parents to catch up on the day's news face to face with staff at collection time instead.
