Overview
L&E World Camps brings together young people from around the world mixed with local children allowing them to experience each others cultures as well as learning valuable life skills. Children can partake in our famous Multi-Activity Programme as well as our L&E Plus specialised courses including English Language, Tennis Academy and Young Global Leaders.
There is a Full Evening Activity Program including Ice Breaker Games, Science Nights, Camp Fire Nights, Movie Nights, Talent Shows, Team Competitions, Laser Tag/Water Fights, Incredible Theme Nights and our end of week Awards Evening - The L&E Oscars!
For children staying multiple weeks the weekends can be seen as your bonus!! It’s a time to relax a little and spend more time with your new friends. There will be some fantastic trips organised over the weekends. These include BC's capital city, Victoria, BC's largest city, Vancouver plus other Local Attractions & Local Beaches.
With L&E, it is especially relevant that young people develop their independence, their confidence and their communication skills. Again and again, in their own words, they tell us they’ve had the time of their lives. We think of L&E World Camp as a community where children feel safe to try something new and to learn about each others cultures.
Our Shawnigan Lake Camp will be a truly Canadian experience, which is helped by the many Canadian children that attend. Your child will return home having tried activities never experienced before including swimming & kayaking on the lake and ocean, starring in their own movie and having made friends for life from around the globe. They will be more confident, have a skip in their step, a smile on their face and probably begging to come back the next year.So, pack your bags for a summer like no other, where the magic of Shawnigan Lake and the warmth of new friendships create memories that echo long after the campfire fades.

Each day is broken into 3 parts and all children will have the opportunity to choose from a huge variety of activity options they would like to do each morning and afternoon.
Our famous Evening Programme is where the whole camp comes together and if staying for multi-weeks exciting excursions are available at the weekends.

L&E Plus (Specialist Courses)
Our English Language, Tennis Academy and Young Global Leaders are 15 hour specialist courses that allow the time to develop the understanding of the skill.
Our English Language course is included for our International Campers who would like more time developing their language skills.
We can be flexible with their time depending on parent’ preferences. The incredible Young Global Leaders program (Youth Leadership & Open Minds) is available for our 13-16 year olds.

Academics
YOUNG GLOBAL LEADERS
L&E YGL is part of our L&E Plus specialised options but can be combined with our Tennis Academy and Multi-Activity programme. It is a good alternative to our English Course for 13-16-year-olds with a good level of English.
It is a week-long course but can be chosen for multiple weeks, as the schedule changes each week.
The Youth Leadership & Open Minds programme, known as Young Global Leaders (YGL), is a comprehensive week-long course within L&E World Camps. Tailored for 13-16-year-olds, it offers a structured platform for personal development. Participants engage in diverse sessions emphasising communication proficiency and teamwork.
Core attributes such as honesty, integrity, adaptability, and the ability to accept constructive feedback are fostered. The YGL curriculum prioritises the cultivation of essential life skills, ensuring participants emerge equipped with the tools for success.
Language lessons
L&E ENGLISH
All our TEFL qualified staff use effective, modern techniques to create interesting, stimulating and enjoyable lessons on our L&E English course. A vital part of the course will be to go out into local areas and use the english language the students have learnt to converse with local people in shops, cafes and tourist attractions.
English Levels
Whatever their level, each child’s English is assessed on their first day. This means that they will be able to learn with others who are at a similar stage. Students are placed by ability to a maximum of 10 in each class. The classes are every morning Monday to Friday (However, we can be flexible with this). A careful balance of activities are designed to increase the student’s english language grammar and vocabulary and improve their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Fully Immersed
At L&E, we focus on ‘learning through experience’ and our experienced staff are passionate about delivering interesting and motivating lessons. Children will be fully immersed with native English speakers most of the time at camp and English will be the common language for every child so the learning will focussed.

Brand new (Opened 2024) modern boarding houses with top facilities. 4 Bed Dormitories with Bathroom and private cubicles. Campus on 150 hectare spectacular lake-front setting. Tennis courts, grass rugby & soccer pitches, ice rink and water-based field hockey turf. Dining in The Great Hall (Harry Potter style!). Wireless campus.

We have a dedicated staff available 24/7, including a nurse available on call.
All staff have a minimum qualification of Basic First Aid, Safe Guarding and Child Protection. However, most of our staff are very qualified. Either Fully Qualified Teachers, Outdoor Education Leaders or Sport Specific Qualified Coaches.
All staff have Advanced Criminal Checks and thorough interviews, inductions and reference checks .

We keep all phones and tablets for safe keeping and allow children to access their phones for 30 minutes a day to call home.

My two girls absolutely loved their experience at L&E World Camp Canada. The camp has a range of activities to suit different interests and the staff are kind, warm and fun. The camp is based at beautiful Shawnigan Lake School which offers incredible facilities. Although neither of my girls had experienced residential camp before they are both desperate to return this year. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend L&E World Camp Canada to anyone looking for a summer camp for their kids.
