Dedicated programmes for different age groups: We offer both a junior programme for ages 7-11 and a senior programme for ages 12-17. Junior Programme Ages 7–11 : Whether this is your child’s first experience away from home or they are a regular globetrotter, our Junior Programme will provide them with the perfect blend of learning, fun activities and cultural experiences. Each child can experience our timetable differently, based on their standard of English. Senior Programme Ages 12–17 : Your child may already be fully conversant in English, or perhaps this is the perfect time for them to experience a taste of British boarding school life. Whatever stage they are at, our Summer School will have something to offer a growing and learning teenager. Our Senior Programme provides the perfect balance of stimulating lessons, fun activities and cultural experiences.

A Felsted week rests on three repeating strands: up to twenty-five hours of teacher contact time, eight hours in a chosen Academy, and three excursions. Lessons develop English and the wider skills the team names openly - communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving - while Academy time lets each student go deep into one interest, from creative writing to film and TV, across the whole stay rather than in one-off tasters. Students are grouped as Juniors and Seniors within the 8-17 age range, so lessons, activities and trips are pitched to age, and the four-week programme is structured so shorter stays still get the full rhythm. Outside the timetable the day follows the shape of a traditional British boarding term, with house-style living, meals together and evening activities, which means English is in constant use rather than confined to a classroom. With young people arriving from around the world, the mix itself does much of the work, and the stated goal is a home away from home where children build confidence, independence and friendships that outlast the summer.

On-site accommodation in our finest boarding houses Our senior students stay in one of our senior boarding houses, comprising single and double rooms, plus some small dormitories, all with shared bathrooms. Our junior students stay in shared rooms in a dedicated boarding house used by our younger children throughout the year. All our boarding houses are well-staffed and supervised, accommodating the needs of every individual child. They are fully secure, and each has a sitting room with TV and games, an outdoor garden to relax in, and a kitchen where drinks and snacks are provided. Our award-winning Felsted chefs produce a wide variety of food that suits all tastes, cultures, and dietary requirements. All our meals are cooked in-house and served in our modern dining hall. Laundry is provided free of charge five days per week.

Pickup service · Located only 20 minutes from Stansted Airport and 90 minutes from Heathrow and Gatwick International Airports, we are perfectly located between London and Cambridge, offering our summer school students numerous historic sites and places of interest to visit. Pickup service · Heathrow lies about 120km from the school, a drive of roughly 90 minutes on the far side of London, and is a practical choice for families flying long-haul. Transfers on transfer day operate from selected airports between 8:00 and 17:00, so arrival times should fall within that window to be met by staff. Booking is made in advance with the summer school office, which co-ordinates all airport transfers.

Pickup service · Gatwick is also about 120km from Felsted, around 90 minutes by road, and works well for European and connecting flights. As with Heathrow, staff meet students from selected airports on transfer day within the 8:00-17:00 pick-up window, so flights should be planned accordingly. Transfer requests are confirmed in advance through the summer school office.

Chelmsford is the nearest railway station and is about 15 minutes from Felsted by taxi, a straightforward option for students travelling into Essex by train from London. Families arranging their own rail travel should share arrival times with the summer school office in advance so that the arrival can be co-ordinated with transfer day timings.
