Established in 1968, Camp Olympia is a private, overnight Texas Summer Camp for boys and girls ages 6-16. It is a classic kids summer camp in Texas, offering two-week and three-week sessions for 7-16 year old campers and one-week sessions for 6-9 year old campers. Our beautiful location on Lake Livingston in Trinity, Texas is the perfect setting for FUN, SUN, and ADVENTURE. Camp Olympia blends its rich 45+ year camping history and experience with its continual growth and exciting additions, making it the best Texas summer camp – like no other. Each Camp Olympia camper selects from over 40 adventure camp activities for a truly individualized summer camp experience, ranging from water skiing to golf to horseback riding, so campers get to CHOOSE the activities that interest them. Most importantly, Camp Olympia builds character and values in its campers. It is a key component to a well-rounded education as children learn responsibility and cooperation while gaining independence and confidence. Our dynamic group of college counselors serves as positive role models for your child, and we strive to keep a counselor to camper ratio of 1 : 4 in each cabin. We are accredited by the American Camping Association, because we know that the safety of your child is of the utmost importance.

The heart of a summer at Camp Olympia is choice: campers pick from more than 45 activities grouped into six families — sports, horseback, outdoor adventure, water fun, arts and recreational hobbies — so no two schedules look quite the same. Before arrival, each child ranks their favourites, and the camp builds an individualised activity schedule from those rankings so they spend time on what they already love while still trying something new. On arrival campers receive that schedule, broken into 40-minute periods that carry them from morning to late afternoon, each period led by counselors who teach the skill properly but keep the mood light. Groups stay small, with at least one counselor for every six campers and never fewer than two counselors in an activity, so a beginner on the ropes course or behind a wakeboard gets real attention. Younger first-timers on the one-week SPARK programme choose from a shorter list of 18 activities pitched at their age group. Woven through it all is the long-running Spartan versus Athenian team competition, where campers earn points for their tribe across the term, and nightly programmes such as dances, carnivals, talent shows and a camp rodeo that keep the day going after sundown.

I just want to say THANK YOU for providing my children with all the wonderful things that you do. The di�fference all the counselors make in their lives...being the role models that sometimes even a parent can’t fill. They view them all as people they want to be like...fun, positive, grounded, fair, loving, friendly, encouraging, helpful, respectful ...I could go on. Both of my sons talked about the CLP program...and someday becoming counselors themselves! I know it’s a lot of work for everyone, but again, the impact on their lives is enormous. Also, the friends that they have made are also unlike most friends they have in their day to day life. I think of it as pure friendships. Not encumbered by outside influences – school, appearance, abilities. People who touch our lives and make a di�fference...help us to find the people we are capable of becoming. The activities, the food, the beautiful camp grounds are incredible, but it’s all of you, the people that make a diff�erence. I am blessed that they have been able to have this experience.

We all appreciate the light-hearted, nurturing atmosphere at camp and the quality of the counselors that you put together each year who do such an amazing job accompanying them at camp. I also wanted to let you know how reassuring the photos were each day. The volume of photos made sure that we saw a picture of each child at least once a day

We’ve never taken safety concernslightly. The American Camping Association (ACA) sets the best standards in the camping industry and that is why Camp Olympia chooses to be accredited by the ACA. We proudly display the ACA accreditation logo as a stamp of approval. ACA Accreditation is the best guarantee of professionalism in camping, and it lets you know we have taken the time to insure our program and our site meets the strictest codes of safety and excellence. You’ll find improvement on going throughout our program, environment, staff, campers and procedures. We have an “open door” and are eagerly awaiting your praise or concerns. Our staff goes through a one-week counselor training school prior to campers arriving so they can learn the Olympia way! Safety is our top priority.

Camp Olympia is a tech-free environment. Campers are not permitted to use their mobile phones while at camp (only during travel/transportation). Additionally, counselors are not permitted to use their mobile phones in cabins or while on duty so their attention is on campers and camp activities!

Camp Olympia has outstanding facilities, including a swimming pool, a challenge course, as well as fields and courts for many activities on its 100+ acre location. We improve the facility each year with additions and enhancements so campers are always in for a treat when they return. Camp just keeps getting better and better!!! While Olympia is located on the breezy shores of large Lake Livingston, it does get warm in Texas during the summer. Unlike most of the other camps in Texas, all of the cabins, bathrooms, our dining hall, and many of the enclosed areas are air-conditioned. Air-conditioned cabins make sleeping at night much more comfortable.

Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is only 90 miles from camp
Pickup service · Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the closest major gateway, just 90 miles from camp, which is what makes Olympia workable for families coming from elsewhere in Texas, out of state or overseas. The drive north takes roughly an hour and a half, following I-45 North to exit 113 (Hwy 19), then some 20 miles into Trinity, right onto Hwy 94 and finally FM 3188 to the camp gates. Camp offers a pickup service from IAH, so please confirm your child's flight details with the camp office in advance so staff can meet them.

Camp sits at 723 Olympia Drive in Trinity, on Lake Livingston in the piney woods of East Texas — about 100 miles north of Houston, 200 miles south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and 200 miles east of Austin. Allow roughly an hour and a half from Houston, just over an hour from Kingwood, about two hours from Beaumont and around three hours from Dallas or Austin. However you approach, the last stretch is the same for everyone: turn onto Hwy 94 at Trinity, go about three miles, then right onto FM 3188 and follow it some five miles to the gates of camp.
