Residential multi-activity camp in Wolfeboro, United States

BIRCHMONT is a traditional coed camp experience located in the beautiful Lakes Region of NH!  In addition to our highly diversified camp curriculum including all the traditional court and field sports, creative & performing arts, high & low challenge courses and horseback riding.  We emphasize the lifelong pursuits of tennis and waterfront activities.  Tennis takes place on 12 all-weather tennis courts that are lit for night play, with two USPTA pros heading up a staff of 12 to challenge each player at his or her own level.  Our mile of shorefront on Lake Wentworth, one of New England’s most pristine and private lakes, with waterfront staff of 20 provides a perfect setting for Red Cross swim instruction, waterskiing, wake boarding, sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and more.  Birchmont is owned & operated by one of the oldest camping families in America. Come join us for summers full of fun, friendships and personal growth!

Activities

Special focus

Multi-activity · Sports & Outdoor

Birchmont is a traditional overnight camp that runs a broad, balanced program rather than a single specialty, with more than 30 daily activities organised into four areas: Aquatics on Lake Wentworth, Athletics on the fields and courts, Arts in the studios and performance spaces, and Adventure on the ropes courses, trails and camp's own mountain. The day follows a structured schedule of instructional periods, so children genuinely learn skills and progress, but the program also builds in choice, letting campers keep going with what they love while trying something they have never done before. Evenings bring their own programming, and the summer is punctuated by signature special events and long-standing traditions such as Color War. Newer campers are eased in through Rookie Camp, while returning families come back for First Session, Second Session or the Full Season, and a Trailblazer session for younger campers joins the line-up in 2027. With a 3:1 camper-to-staff ratio and a leadership team of teachers, coaches and parents averaging nineteen summers at camp, the emphasis stays on healthy risk-taking within a supportive structure, guided by the question posed at every camper's first campfire: what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

Thank you so much for this and for the wise words! Please send all of camp leadership our profound gratitude for giving our daughter and all the kids at Birchmont the joy and freedom of being kids this summer after a really really long 16 months. We miss Noelle so much but could not be more grateful for the ability to send her to a place as special as Birchmont, where she is with special friends in a very special place. We appreciate all you do, especially this summer, to let kids be kids and make memories and friendships of a lifetime.

…Ok. What did you do with Declan? The Declan that came home yesterday made his bed this morning without me asking, beat me in tennis 6-2, 6-2, is more mature and independent, doesn't care about electronics, etc etc. He's not happy to be home and wants to go back to camp "right now." I love it! Thank you and everyone up there for an incredible summer! Early bird registration complete. Counting down til next summer!!

All three of my kids are very much looking forward to see everyone again. I am very happy to have them in your hands during the summer. It is because of Camp Birchmont that they all have a very positive attitude towards the U.S., their people and their values.

I just wanted to take a moment of your time to say hello and thank you for making Luke's summer so successful. He had a tremendous time at Birchmont and I know he was sad to leave such a blissful haven. I truly recognize all the small and large "things" that you all do behind the scenes to make it all work. Lastly, please thank the camp photographer. Her pictures were a huge high for me each day and helped me get through 2 sessions.
