Camp Birchmont

Birchmont is a traditional overnight camp that runs a broad, balanced program rather than a single specialty, with more than 30 daily activities organised into four areas: Aquatics on Lake Wentworth, Athletics on the fields and courts, Arts in the studios and performance spaces, and Adventure on the ropes courses, trails and camp's own mountain. The day follows a structured schedule of instructional periods, so children genuinely learn skills and progress, but the program also builds in choice, letting campers keep going with what they love while trying something they have never done before. Evenings bring their own programming, and the summer is punctuated by signature special events and long-standing traditions such as Color War. Newer campers are eased in through Rookie Camp, while returning families come back for First Session, Second Session or the Full Season, and a Trailblazer session for younger campers joins the line-up in 2027. With a 3:1 camper-to-staff ratio and a leadership team of teachers, coaches and parents averaging nineteen summers at camp, the emphasis stays on healthy risk-taking within a supportive structure, guided by the question posed at every camper's first campfire: what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

Our accommodations are the best in camping, each cabin is spacious, pine paneled, and includes its own attached bathroom and counselor room for excellent supervision. Be it the dining rooms, camper cabins, or program facilities, Birchmont is known throughout camping for beautiful accommodations! Birchmont is situated on 300 acres with a half mile of private waterfront on Lake Wentworth, a Class A with a natural sand bottom.
