ENGLISH YES YOU CAN
from£2,299

Bellevue Education runs this residential camp in Strood Green, United Kingdom. The camp welcomes children aged 14–18, with languages on the programme. Typically open July — new dates coming soon. Activities run in English.
Set in 35 acres of parkland on the edge of Horsham in West Sussex, Farlington's Residential Research Programme gives students aged 14 to 18 a fortnight of real British boarding school life alongside serious academic work. Over two weeks your child follows 15 hours of specialist tuition leading to a Level 3 qualification in Research Skills worth 8 UCAS points, with the research topic agreed individually with a course tutor and shaped around the degree they hope to study, from medicine and technology to sport, the arts or business. Days move between morning seminars and one-to-one tutorials, an elective of their own choosing in the afternoon, and trips that take the group into London, Oxford, Brighton and Portsmouth. Students live in the Mansion House boarding accommodation in rooms of two to four, cared for by house parents and welfare staff, eating together in the main dining room and sharing evenings of sport, music, cooking and conversation with young people from around the world. It suits international students who want to improve their English in a genuinely immersive setting while coming home with a qualification, a certificate and a clearer sense of university study in the UK.

Ask a questionMornings belong to the research course and afternoons open up. At the start of each week students choose an elective for each day from a published list, so the programme is theirs to shape: art in the studio, badminton or basketball in the sports hall, cookery, football on the Astro, mindful gardening, orienteering around the local area, tennis on the hard courts, a supervised session in the fitness suite, or golf tuition at Slinfold Golf & Country Club. Multi-sport sessions run most afternoons too, with volleyball, football, cricket, rounders, tennis, badminton and basketball on offer and the chance to join in alongside UK students, which is where much of the natural English practice happens. Evenings are deliberately relaxed and social, with sport, music practice rooms, arts and crafts, team-building games and the boarding house kitchen and common room, plus one off-site activity such as bowling each week. Three outings a week and a celebration barbecue with certificates on the final evening give the fortnight its rhythm.

Bellevue Summer Schools work to a comprehensive Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, and the team understands that time apart is as hard for parents as it is for children. Every staff member completes safeguarding training written specifically for the summer school and is backed by an experienced safeguarding team, while students are looked after day and night by house parents and dedicated welfare support staff and can approach any member of staff for help. Recruitment follows safer recruitment practice, with background checks and references taken up for everyone working with the students, and external suppliers such as transfer providers are held to the same standard.

Phones, tablets and laptops are then collected in before bedtime and returned the following morning, so that everyone gets a proper night's sleep before the next day's lessons and trips.
Where your child sleeps
Students board in Farlington's Mansion House, in rooms of between two and four beds with shared bathrooms. Boys' and girls' accommodation is separate, while the common room and kitchen are shared spaces boarders can use in the evenings. Wi-Fi reaches the boarding house so students can make video calls home, and laundry is done weekly as part of the programme.

Getting your child there
Horsham railway station
Pickup service · Transfers between Horsham station and Farlington School are included in the programme fee, so students arriving into the UK by rail are met and driven the short distance to the campus and taken back again at the end of the fortnight. Arrival is on the first Sunday with check-in timed around each student's travel, and departure follows check-out between 09:00 and 09:30 on the final Friday. The school also uses the train from Horsham for the group's day out to Portsmouth.
London Gatwick Airport
Pickup service · Farlington is located within 20 minutes of Gatwick, making it the most straightforward arrival point for international students. Transfers to and from Gatwick are arranged by Farlington School at an additional cost, which families should request from the summer school team when booking; transfer providers are required to meet the same safer recruitment and background checking standards as school staff. Arrival day check-in times are set around each student's flight.
London Heathrow Airport
Pickup service · Students flying into Heathrow can also be met, with transfers to and from the airport provided by Farlington School for an additional cost arranged directly with the summer school office. As with all external suppliers, transfer companies are required to follow the same background checking and safer recruitment procedures as the school's own staff, and arrival timings are matched to the student's flight.
