About International School of Milan

ACADEMIC STRUCTURE - Classes are divided by age to create a focused learning experience. AGE GROUPS •Junior: 12–14 years •Senior: 15–17 years CORE COURSE: UPCYCLING & SUSTAINABLE FASHION (common to all students): •This two-week course guides students through the creative process of transforming existing garments into new, original pieces through upcycling, recycling, and reconstruction. They explore sewing, natural dyeing, and screen printing, developing personal visual boards to inspire their designs. With guided experimentation, each student creates a mini capsule collection of 2–3 reimagined garments—enhanced in colour, finish, shape, and texture—culminating in a professional photoshoot and styling session. ELECTIVE COURSES (students will choose one of following): •ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE – (for beginners and elementary level). Campers immerse themselves in Italian language and culture through interactive lessons that build grammar, vocabulary, and confidence. In small groups, they discuss topics such as culture, fashion, and sustainability while engaging in quizzes, videos, creative workshops, cooking sessions, and local activities. The course strengthens communication skills and independent thinking, with all projects presented at the final school exhibition for families and friends. (A minimum number of enrolments is required for this course; if not reached, students will be placed in the Art & Fashion Collection course.) •ART & FASHION COLLECTION Campers explore the creative process of designing a fashion collection, from concept to final portfolio. They learn research, brand identity, mood boards, colour palettes, material selection, and sketching, while gaining insight into the Italian fashion system. Combining theory and practice through collage, drawing, and visual composition, the course builds solid foundations for future studies and concludes with a personal portfolio presented at the final exhibition. The International School of Milan campus is a secure area with 24/7 supervised access. Students are never left unsupervised and move only within authorised zones. Staff maintain a 1:10 supervision ratio, and all excursions, activities, and free-time periods are monitored. Emergency procedures and trained staff ensure a safe environment at all times.
