Activities

Special focus

Coding · Tech & Science

TechnPlay builds each holiday week around a single theme and uses what it calls Purposeful Play to teach STEAM concepts through it, so children are not moving between unrelated one-off workshops but following one idea across the five days. A week might be a Minecraft camp for 8-12 year olds or a STEAM camp pitched at 4-7 year olds, with Leuven summer weeks split into separate 4-6 and 7-12 groups so the challenges match the age. The days are hands-on: children build, tinker and experiment in small groups, and activities are deliberately designed around future-ready skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. Because group sizes are kept small, facilitators can sit with children as they problem-solve and adjust the challenge to what each child is ready for. Everything runs in English, from the morning briefing at 9:00 through to the end of activities in the late afternoon.

Safety & Supervision

Small group sizes
Age-separated groups
Supervised aftercare until 17:00

TechnPlay deliberately keeps its camp groups small so that facilitators can stay close to the children as they build, tinker and experiment, and so that every child is known by name rather than lost in a crowd. Children are grouped by age — separate 4-6 and 7-12 year old weeks in Leuven — so activities and supervision suit their stage. Doors open at 8:40 for a 9:00 start and the day is supervised through to 16:30, with staffed aftercare until 17:00 for parents who need a later collection.

About World Camps Trust

Meals

Meals are not catered, so each child comes with a packed lunch, snacks and a water bottle for the day; the joining instructions ask families to pack these alongside a spare change of clothing, and children eat together with their group between activity sessions.

The campus

International school campus

The Leuven camps run on the campus of the International School of Leuven at Tervuursesteenweg 282, a centrally located site that is also handy for families in Tervuren and Overijse, so children work in real classrooms and school spaces set up for building and experimenting. A second summer week is hosted at ISF Tervuren on Stationsstraat, and the Brussels camps take place at the British International School of Brussels, close to the communes of Ixelles and Schaerbeek.
