Run on the American School of Barcelona's own campus in Esplugues de Llobregat, the Summer English Program gives children from age 3 to 17 four weeks of English immersion over the summer in Barcelona. Native English-speaking teachers lead the lessons, and what is learned in the classroom is put straight to use in sports, art, and hands-on technology projects, so the language is lived rather than simply studied. Groups are built around every level, from beginners studying English for the first time to teenagers polishing their fluency, and the mix of nationalities on campus makes speaking English the natural way to make friends. Lunch and bus service to Barcelona is included in the full-day program fee.

The four-week program is built as a balanced daily rhythm: structured English lessons in class, then a rotation through sports, art and technology projects where English skills is immediately put to work. Children are grouped by age and language level, which keeps the youngest ones in a nurturing, play-led setting while teenagers take on more ambitious project work. What sets the program apart is that it is run by an international school on its own campus, with native English-speaking teachers and modern, spacious school facilities, so the experience feels like a genuine immersion in an English-speaking school community. All classrooms have air conditioning.

The program uses the full American School of Barcelona campus, a single site in Esplugues de Llobregat a short distance from the Barcelona city center. Purpose-built spaces added over the last decade include a state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center and Elementary School building, a Middle School, a gymnasium-auditorium and an outdoor amphitheater used for performances and gatherings, while the cafeteria has long been described as the heart of school life. Younger and older children therefore each have age-appropriate classrooms and play areas, with indoor sports space for hot afternoons.
