STEM Academy Malaysia Science & Engineering Camp

The Science and Engineering Camp sits within the academy's kinesthetic, hands-on programme, which means children spend their time building, testing and experimenting rather than watching demonstrations. Sessions are designed to simulate a young engineer's way of working, taking the principles of science and turning them into something the children make with their own hands, so a day flows from a question, through planning, into construction and a look at what worked. Tutors deliberately stretch four habits of mind across the activities: careful observation, investigatory curiosity, critical thinking through planning, and the willingness to explore an unfamiliar subject. Because the academy writes its own syllabus and closes the loop with a U.S.-based certification, the camp has a clear progression rather than a series of one-off crafts. Parents have noticed the effect afterwards, with children starting to point out the design of buildings and highways they had passed for years without a second glance, and children who enjoy the digital side can carry on into the Siemens Solid Edge and robotics pathways.
