Schloss Leizen Basketball Camp

Set in a restored 1898 manor house in a quiet village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Basketball Camp at Schloss Leizen gives children aged six to sixteen a full week built around the game, whether they already play in a club or are picking up a ball for the first time. Two training sessions a day take place in the sports hall during the winter months, with experienced coaches who divide the children into small groups so that each one works on exactly the technical and tactical points holding them back. Away from the court the week stays active and sociable: afternoons mean skating at the ice rink, playing out in the snow and sledging when there is enough of it, plus outings and games with the rest of the camp. Meals are prepared to organic standards using vegetables from the estate's own farm, and the popular cooking workshops let young players learn how food actually fuels an athlete while chopping, peeling and tasting their way through a recipe. Simple daily routines — morning exercise, making beds, keeping clothes in order — are part of life here too, and children go home with new friendships alongside a sharper game.
