Residential English camp in Ranum, Denmark

Spend a summer at Ranum International Summer Camps. You will have an amazing, fun and exciting summer holiday, while being challenged personally and academically! Ranum Efterskole College is a Danish and International residential school located in picturesque West Himmerland in Denmark. Every year the school hosts various international Summer Camps for young people in the ages of 14-17 years old. Participants will have the choice of our International Summer School for 1 to 4 weeks or one of several specialised camps for 1 to 2 weeks: Cheerleading, Dance and Basketball camps. INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL Academic courses are taught in English and all participants will partake in English or Danish lessons during their stay. All participants will also choose between a wide variety of subjects. In the afternoons, participants will also be given the choice between a wide variety of extracurricular activities available to them at the school. This will give them the opportunity to absorb lots of different experiences. SUMMER CAMPS Academic teaching much like the international summer school is both provided in Danish and English. Although, unlike the international summer school academics in our camps are focused on the topic of the chosen camp. This gives our participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in their chosen subject. Afternoons will be dedicated to the practical activity of the camp, whether that is sailing, watching the sunset at the beach, bonfire, outdoor living or creating artworks. All programmes include: - Accommodation in studio with 2 to 5 room-mates - 3 meals and refreshments each day - Academic subjects, extracurricular and activities - Excursion to heritage sites in Denmark - Transfer to and from Aalborg International Airport - A welcome package (t-shirt, water bottle, keyhanger and hoodie) - Teachers and staff available at all times - Study trips to Copenhagen and Odense, Hamburg or Malmö - A personal mentor/contact/ group teacher. - All programmes do not include health insurance or liability Insurance Participants come from all over the world to meet other young people, who share their interests and passions. Would you dare to miss out?

Summer at Ranum Efterskole College is built so that each teenager can shape their own stay: five-day Short Camps for those who want to dive into one passion, an International Summer School of one, two, three or four weeks, or a two-week English Language School with intensive Cambridge English teaching. The Short Camps each carry a single focus — Surf, Wakeboard, Diving, Dance or the Grandparents Camp — and are as much about tasting Danish efterskole boarding life up close as they are about the sport itself. On the Summer School, mornings of English sit alongside chosen themed profile subjects, so campers spend their days with the people who share the same interest, and excursions are woven into the weeks. Because participants arrive from all over the world, the programme leans heavily on community: shared houses, shared activities and a graduation or gala party to close the stay, with a course certificate for the language students. Programmes and activities do flex with the weather, which is part of how an active, largely outdoor camp in North Jutland works.

Honestly, I'm so happy that I chose this boarding-school. I had lots opportunities to experience different subjects to search subjects to see if they were suitable for me, in which ended being super succesful. The staff as well are very welcoming, helpful and happy! Don't even get me started about the food, because the food in the canteen is definitely revolutionary. Even if I were supposed to be feeling alone, I would always have someone or somebody to talk to. The social environment here gets a 5-star rating from here!

Ranum International Summer School was another world with a big family and lots of adventures. I made friends from all over the world and I got to know a very special school system. I studied English and Science and I fell in love with Sailing which I’d never tried before. I think it’s a unique experience which lasts a lifetime and I can’t compare it to anything in my life. I want to go back

Screen time policy

At the camp, mobile phone usage is limited to encourage focus during classes and promote more face-to-face interactions. Phones should not be used during class time, from 8 AM to 2 PM. Outside of class hours, students are allowed to use their phones, but we encourage them to engage with each other and make the most of their time in a shared, social environment. Our goal is to help students connect more deeply with one another, minimizing distractions and fostering meaningful relationships without the constant pull of technology.
