The Acting for Film course is a five-day intensive that runs 09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, and it is structured as a single shared programme rather than a menu of electives, so every student moves through the same sequence of workshops with the whole group. Days alternate between screen work — filming a one-scene showreel on the school's camera, sound and lighting kit, then editing it with a teacher looking over their shoulder — and stage rehearsal towards a short play performed for peers and parents at the end of the week, with a headshot session and a lighting and sound design workshop threaded in. What sets the programme apart is how deliberately career-facing it is: alongside the craft, students are given the tools to approach agents and casting directors, receive CV and cover letter templates, and get help applying to the casting site Spotlight after the course. Cohorts are kept small, with only a handful of places per location including two bursary places, so teachers who are themselves working actors can give individual feedback and push each student to perform independently as quickly as possible. Certification through Trinity College London's Arts Award at Bronze, Silver or Gold level gives the week a recognised outcome, with Gold carrying 16 UCAS points for UK university applications.

Nobody works well on an empty stomach, so lunch is provided by the school on every course day and eaten together as a company, which quickly turns a room of strangers into an ensemble. Students who take the residential option are fully catered for with three cooked meals a day, prepared by the school's third-party catering team, so mornings start with breakfast before workshops and the day closes with a hot dinner after filming and rehearsals.

Our boarding houses are set at the International School or Sherborne School, a 3 minute walk from campus. Students will be placed in gender separated floors and rooms, with qualified members of Sherborne International School staff overseeing their safeguarding during the night. Rooms can be shared for a lower price or students can reserve a private room with 2 beds. All rooms are have an ensuite bathroom - some of which may be shared with another room. We will place you in the accommodation of your prefence. All prices include 3 meals per day served in the campus canteen. During the evenings, students can relax on beanbags as we watch & study classic films. Sherborne is an ancient abbey town, a hidden gem in the English countryside. If you want to experience high-class rural British life, there is no better villiage than this ancient town. Our courses take place across Sherborne School's campus, including the school's Abbey.

Pickup service · We will run 2 airport pick up services from Bristol & Heathrow on the day of check in, which will leave the airport at 15:00.

Families driving to the course drop off on Abbey Road in Sherborne. The teaching day runs 09:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday, and all students, whether local or staying in the accommodation, are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the start on the first morning for check-in.

Pickup service · One of the two airport pick-up services runs from Bristol on the day of check-in, with the group leaving the airport at 15:00, so flights should be booked to land comfortably before that window. Transfers are arranged in advance by email with the office rather than booked online, and flights themselves are not part of the course fee, so families travelling from abroad make their own flight arrangements.

Pickup service · The second staffed pick-up service leaves London Heathrow at 15:00 on the day of check-in, meeting students after they clear arrivals and bringing them to the course together. The transfer needs to be requested by email ahead of time, and flights to the UK are not included in the course price.
