Have a question for the camp?
Ask a questionThe four days are built around a choice-based model: several activity tracks run at the same time, and children pick the sessions that match their interests rather than being marched through a fixed rotation. A child who would rather build robots than make jewellery, or play football rather than code, can move between activities across the day, which keeps motivation high and lets quieter children settle where they feel confident. The rhythm is deliberately balanced, with focused technology and coding work set against craft projects and active outdoor play, so no part of the day feels either overstimulating or aimless. Everything happens in small groups with instructors close at hand, which means collaboration and personal attention are built into the structure. Across more than ten experiences, from LEGO Robotics, Minecraft coding and Roblox to T-shirt painting, jewellery making and clay modelling and the candy-making workshop, sports: football, basketball, dodgeball, the intention is that every child finds something they love and tries something they would never have chosen alone.
Groups are deliberately kept small, with GowReads working to an 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio so that every child is known by name and gets hands-on help rather than being left to follow a screen. Sessions are instructor-led from start to finish by qualified professionals, and the camp is designed so that transitions between technology, craft and sports activities stay supervised. Parents receive regular feedback via emails on how children are getting on, something families have singled out in reviews.
GowReads follows a balanced screen-time approach during camp. Screen-based activities such as LEGO Robotics, Roblox Game Development and Minecraft Coding are structured learning sessions, while the rest of the day includes arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, creative activities and the Candy Making Workshop. Children are encouraged to use technology purposefully for learning and creation rather than for passive screen time. To support an engaging and focused camp environment, personal phones, tablets and other personal electronic devices are not permitted during camp hours.
