by Ermitage International School Bordeaux
Ermitage International School Bordeaux runs this day camp in Bordeaux, France. The camp welcomes children aged 3–11, with languages on the programme. Activities run in English and French.
When the school holidays arrive, Ermitage International School Bordeaux opens its Cauderan campus to children for a varied programme of artistic, sporting, scientific and cultural workshops punctuated by excursions around the city. Days unfold in and around an elegant 19th-century house whose classrooms open onto a listed, fully enclosed 1,800 m² garden planted with trees, so children move easily between indoor projects and outdoor play. The same bilingual French-English spirit that shapes the school year carries into the holidays, with native English-speaking staff and a warm, multicultural atmosphere where beginners are as welcome as fluent speakers. Specialist spaces such as the dojo, the visual arts room, the music area and the multi-sports pitch give each day its own shape, while nearby parks, sports grounds and museums turn Bordeaux itself into part of the programme. It is a gentle, nurturing holiday option for young children who like to keep learning through play.

Have a question for the camp?
Ask a questionThe holiday programme is built around themed workshops that rotate through the week, blending artistic, sporting, scientific and cultural strands so that a child's day moves between making, moving, exploring and discovering. Excursions into the surrounding neighbourhood and city are part of the rhythm rather than an occasional extra, with short walks to nearby parks or supervised visits further afield breaking up the time on campus. Groups are small and led by qualified professionals, and activities are tailored to each child's age, energy level and interests, in the same spirit as the school's year-round extracurricular offering. The programme is deliberately designed to evolve, with new workshops appearing in response to the children's own ideas and interests. The aim is twofold: to let children keep learning through play, and to give them an active, warm and sociable holiday in a bilingual setting.

Residential Cauderan district, a few minutes from central Bordeaux
The campus is an elegant 19th-century house in the residential Cauderan district, recently renovated so that bright, spacious classrooms open directly onto the garden. That garden, 1,800 m² of listed, tree-planted and fully secure grounds, doubles as a playground and an outdoor learning space for exploration and quiet moments alike. Indoors, children have a room dedicated to the visual arts, a music area, a dojo used for judo and motor-skills work, and a science laboratory equipped with interactive screens and a 3D printer. Sport also spills beyond the gates: the Bel-Air complex sits just 100 metres away with natural and synthetic grass pitches, a hockey field and a cross-country and orienteering course, while the historic Villa Primrose tennis and hockey club is close by.
