Concord pairs a serious academic core — English, Humanities or STEM tuition, chosen when you apply — with an Enrichment Programme that every student takes part in, so afternoons and free time have real shape rather than being filled at random. Students select their enrichment activity from a published list, with places limited on each one and a few age-banded so that the 11-12s and the 13-16s each get options pitched at them, and some of the specialist choices carry an additional fee. The pull is towards trying something new: creative work in mixed media, sport for all abilities, board games and puzzles in pairs and small teams, cooking with a qualified instructor, coached golf at a golf course off campus, or outdoor pursuits with qualified instructors. Around this sits a social and leisure programme in the evenings and excursions at weekends, all inside a 73-acre countryside campus where residences, classrooms and leisure facilities are a short walk apart. The result is a fortnight that feels like a genuine British boarding experience — structured, supervised and busy, but with room for students to find their own confidence.

Our son came back enthusiastic and had another wonderful time with you! He spoke with great enthusiasm about the activities, be it the excursions or the events at the college. He also enjoyed the classes a lot and talked about them in detail. We are very grateful for the great organization by the Concord team. It is nice to hear that he had so many positive experiences and that he was able to make new friends. He particularly liked the variety between classes and leisure activities and was able to learn many new things.

Published safeguarding and care of students policies

Students live on campus in boarding residences that are strictly all boys or all girls and are allocated by gender and age, so your child shares a house with peers at a similar stage. Each residence has at least one boarding parent living in it who checks regularly on students' health and well-being, and every student has a single room of their own with a security safe. Entry to the residence and to bedrooms is controlled by electronic card or key code, and weekday bedtimes are set by age group, at 21.30 for the 11-12s and 22.00 for the 13-16s. In the dining room allergens are labelled on all food served and the catering team works to individual dietary requirements notified in advance. The college also publishes its Care of Students and Safeguarding information and policy documents for families to read before arrival.

Served in the dining room from 08:00 on weekdays, with a later, more relaxed start on Saturdays and an earlier one on Sundays when an excursion is leaving.

Served between 12:30 and 13:30 on campus, with hot options, the deli bar and salad bars; on Sundays lunch is usually taken off-site during excursions.

dinner

Supper is served each evening from 18:30, before the evening social and leisure activities begin.

Every dish is cooked on site by the college's own chefs — the same Main Term catering team that feeds students, staff and visitors year-round — using fresh produce sourced locally wherever possible. The dining room works with three hot serving areas at breakfast, lunch and supper, plus a deli bar for sandwiches, wraps and baked items, two salad bars and a dessert counter, so a fussy eater and an adventurous one can sit down together happily. Allergens are labelled on the food served and the kitchen caters for all dietary requirements as long as the chefs are told in advance. Weekend timings shift a little around the excursion programme, and Sunday lunch is normally taken off-site while students are out.
