Chester College International Summer Camps in Spain combine language immersion, sports, creativity and cultural exploration in a safe and welcoming environment. With more than 40 years of experience, our family-run camp welcomes international campers for a summer of learning, adventure and friendship. Many families return year after year: around 70% of our campers come back, and half of them attend for four summers or more, creating a strong sense of community and lasting friendships. Campers can choose between two language programmes: English or Spanish. Both follow a communicative teaching approach designed to maximise exposure to the language through interaction, participation and real-life communication. Morning classes are dynamic and engaging, taught in small groups by native-speaking teachers, helping campers build confidence and fluency in a natural and enjoyable way. English International Summer Camp Campers develop their English while taking part in a vibrant programme of sports, outdoor activities and creative projects. A highlight of the programme is the Musical Project, where campers rehearse and perform a musical production together during camp. Participants may also choose to sit an official Trinity College London English exam onsite at the end of their stay. Spanish International Summer Camp Designed for campers who want to learn or improve their Spanish while experiencing everyday life and culture in Spain. Morning Spanish classes follow the same communicative methodology and are led by native Spanish-speaking teachers who encourage active participation and practical communication. After the morning language programme, campers from both language strands come together to enjoy the full programme of sports, games and activities, creating a lively international atmosphere. The camp offers a wide range of sports and outdoor adventures, including water activities such as surfing and canoeing, as well as team games, workshops and evening events. At weekends, campers enjoy excursions across the beautiful region of Galicia, visiting places of cultural and recreational interest and exploring some of the area’s spectacular sandy beaches. On Sundays, campers who wish may also attend Mass locally. Located in green northern Spain, Galicia offers a particularly pleasant summer climate, with long sunny days and comfortable temperatures that are ideal for outdoor activities and exploration. Both the English and Spanish camps are available as Day Camp or Residential (Boarding) programmes, offering flexibility for local families as well as international campers. Chester College Summer Camps combine language immersion, creativity, sports and cultural exchange, creating an unforgettable summer experience in Spain.

Last July, I sent my twin 11-year-old daughters to Chester International College’s Spanish immersion program in Santiago, and we loved absolutely everything about the experience. The location in Santiago was ideal—this small, beautiful, and historic city created the perfect backdrop for both learning and exploration. The program itself was wonderfully balanced: my girls were immersed in Spanish while also enjoying quintessential camp activities, from sports and swimming to theater and fun after-school and weekend outings around the greater area. The variety kept them engaged and excited every day. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive, and they went out of their way to help us, even assisting us in finding accommodations in the old city, which we absolutely loved. While we chose not to board our children this time, the school made it very easy to stay off-campus by offering bus service right to your doorstep. Boarding is something we would definitely consider in the future as they grow older. Overall, the program exceeded our expectations in every way—combining language immersion, cultural exploration, and fun in a safe and supportive environment. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Year after year, the Summer Camp shows that learning English can be both effective and incredibly fun. The children come home every day happy, tired, and delightfully dirty after so many activities. What’s even more special is seeing how, by the end of the camp, participants of different ages, backgrounds, and personalities truly come together as one big family. It’s wonderful to witness the genuine connections that form across ages and roles—among students, teachers, support staff, and parents alike. Forty years of continued success say it all!

I really enjoyed my time at Chester College’s Spanish summer camp. It was really something special boarding with people so different from myself, as much as this was a learning experience for me it also opened my mind to the rich culture of Galicia and of Spain as a whole. The daily lessons really pushed me to become more potent in the Spanish language and I can confidently say that this helped me in my other academic activities. Thanks for the memories!
