Activities

Special focus

Language & activities · Languages

A week at CERAN Saint-Roch has a clear and reassuring shape: intensive interactive lessons in the morning in small international groups, then fourteen weekly periods of sport, creative workshops and cultural activities in the afternoon and evening, all conducted in the language the child is learning. Nothing is left to chance in between, because meals in the big dining room, time in the relaxation lounges and even bedtime conversations happen in the target language, which is what CERAN means by continuous immersion from morning to night. Children stay with the same small group and the same attentive team, at one adult for every three participants, so trust builds quickly and mistakes stop feeling risky. The balance between demanding classes and genuinely fun activities is deliberate: the aim is confidence in speaking, without the academic pressure of school. Stays run from one week upwards during July and August, and children can return summer after summer to keep building on what they gained.

Safety & Supervision

Staff to camper ratio1:3
Reinforced supervision: 1 adult for 3 participants
Small international groups of 7 to 9 students
Enclosed residential campus away from urban distractions
Dedicated team available to parents before, during and after the stay

Supervision at Saint-Roch is deliberately generous: one adult accompanies every three participants, so children are never far from a familiar face whether they are in class, on the sports fields or in one of the relaxation lounges. Groups are kept small on purpose, which allows the teaching and activity team to notice who needs encouragement and who needs a gentle push to speak up. The campus itself is a secure, self-contained site in the green countryside of Ferrières, away from urban distractions, and children stay within it for lessons, meals and free time. Parents are not left in the dark either: a dedicated team answers their questions before, during and after the stay, by phone or email.

About World Camps Trust

Meals

Full board is part of every stay, and mealtimes are treated as part of the learning day rather than a break from it. Children gather in the centre's single large dining room, where conversation continues in the language they are studying, so breakfast, lunch and dinner all become natural practice with their group and their trainers. As one young participant put it, the language is lived from breakfast right through to the afternoon activities.

Accommodation & campus

Where your child sleeps

Bedrooms
Private bedrooms & Shared bedrooms

Children sleep on the campus itself, in one of the 179 rooms of the CERAN Saint-Roch centre, which keeps the immersion going long after lessons end. Families can choose a single room or a shared room, booked from Sunday through to Saturday, and full board is included throughout. Around the bedrooms there are ten relaxation lounges where young people meet up between activities and carry on chatting in the language they are learning, plus shared living spaces and one large dining room at the heart of daily life.

Green residential campus in the countryside of Ferrières, away from urban distractions

Saint-Roch is a genuine language campus rather than a school borrowed for the summer: everything a child needs sits within the same green, quiet estate at Ferrières. Seven sports facilities, including a renovated swimming pool, a sports hall, a tennis court and a beach volleyball court, mean the afternoons can move outdoors as soon as class is over. Ten relaxation lounges give young people friendly corners to meet, play and keep talking in their new language, while a single large dining room brings everyone together at mealtimes. With the 179 bedrooms on site too, children move between lessons, sport, meals and evenings without ever leaving the campus.
