Cave Hill Creek Winter Camp

Winter Camp runs as a residential holiday programme of roughly four nights and five days that the team happily describes as one giant sleepover full of friends and adventure. Campers are placed in cabin or tent groups of eight to eleven, each with its own team of counsellors, and move through the day as a group from one guided activity to the next, so a morning on the cliffs can be followed by an afternoon on the bikes and an evening around the fire. The programme is the same spirit as summer but shifted for the season — swimming and canoeing give way to abseiling, mountain biking and bushwalking, with hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows and campfire evenings replacing icy poles. Activities are chosen to stretch children just enough, mixing high-adrenaline challenges with slower options like bush cooking, craft and bush art, and every session is led by the camp's qualified outdoor guides. Being entirely tech-free, the week is built around confidence, independence and friendships, and it finishes with the traditional Adventure Race that pulls the whole camp together.
