  1. We were in Manchester for intermediate level classes, one adult and one child, and everything went very well. We also signed up for the afternoon activities: a visit to the football museum, a film, a tour of Manchester United… The teachers and the reception and afternoon tour staff were also very good.

  2. We had a great experience at BEA, it’s the best option for learning English in Manchester. Thanks to the teachers, Matt and Lucy, for helping us improve our English and making their classes enjoyable, and to the staff for their kindness and friendliness.

Q&A

The camp still needs to provide this information. Please get in touch with them through this page to request more info.
The school follows comprehensive health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff. The premises comply with UK health and safety regulations and include regular risk assessments, fire safety procedures, clearly marked emergency exits, and first aid provision. Staff are trained in health and safety procedures, emergency response, and safeguarding, and students receive guidance on safety during their orientation.
Students are supervised according to age-appropriate staff-to-student ratios to ensure safety and proper supervision during lessons, activities, and excursions. For younger students (ages 6–10), the ratio is typically 1:10 for on-site activities and 1:8 for excursions. For students aged 11–15, supervision is 1:12 for on-site activities and 1:10 for excursions. Older students aged 16–17 may have greater independence, with a ratio of 1:15 for both on-site activities and excursions, while staff remain available and accountable.

Students are supervised throughout the day, including during lessons, activities, excursions, breaks, and transitions.
Supervision ratios are adapted according to age groups to ensure appropriate levels of support and safety.
Free time is structured and monitored, with unsupervised time kept to an absolute minimum.

All staff undergo enhanced background checks (including DBS checks for UK-based staff) and receive regular safeguarding and emergency preparedness training.

All staff receive initial induction and training, covering safeguarding, student welfare, health and safety, and school policies. Staff working with under-18s also complete specific safeguarding training.

Our teachers are highly qualified and hold DELTA certification, and they take part in ongoing professional development, including workshops, peer observations, and regular feedback from the academic management team.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for students from all backgrounds. Our school hosts students from many different countries and cultures, and we actively encourage respect, cultural exchange, and open communication among students and staff.

Our policies promote equality, diversity, and mutual respect, ensuring that all students feel safe and supported regardless of their nationality, culture, religion, gender, or background.

Staff are trained to support a diverse international community, and we promote inclusion through classroom activities, social events, and a strong focus on student welfare.

The school has clear codes of conduct and safety protocols to ensure a respectful and secure environment for all students.

Students are informed about the school rules, behaviour expectations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines during their orientation. Staff follow established policies covering student welfare, safeguarding, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.

These measures help ensure that all students feel safe, respected, and supported throughout their stay.

Mobile phone use is permitted but managed responsibly to ensure student safety and engagement in activities. Students are generally asked not to use mobile phones during lessons or organised activities unless authorised by staff.

Staff may also restrict phone use when necessary to support learning, supervision, and student wellbeing.

This camp was founded in 2012.
