Aventer group Languages and Surf Summer camp

Set on the campus of Kingsley School in Bideford, on the Devon coast of south-west England, this residential camp brings together 13 to 17 year olds for a summer of language immersion and surfing. Each week students take 15 hours of English or Spanish lessons in the school's classrooms, alternating between mornings and afternoons, and spend two to three hours a day in the water with the coaches of Kingsley Surf Academy, who choose the best break along the coast according to that day's conditions. Away from lessons and waves there are guided excursions to places like Clovelly, Exmoor Zoo and the Milky Way Adventure Park, coastal walks, film nights and evening games, plus a day at The Wave in Bristol to surf the artificial lagoon. Bilingual and native monitors live alongside the group in the school's accommodation houses and are present day and night, so the camp works as much on confidence and independence as it does on language and surf technique. Full board, insurance, excursion entrance tickets and the transfer from Bristol airport are all part of the stay.
