Residential German camp in Penningberg, Austria
We have been offering German and English language teaching and multi- activity summer camps since 2006. Our all-inclusive program provides a unique experience for children aged 8-15 years from around the world. Language lessons, in German and English, are combined with a wide range of exciting and inspiring outdoor activities, adventures, athletic programs, excursions, and creative and cultural immersion. In order to keep the family atmosphere that our camp is known for, the camp is kept intentionally small, with no more than 35 participants per week. The camper to counselor ratio of 5:1 allows us to adapt to each child’s individual needs. We attach great importance to each child’s care. Our unpretentious, family-like atmosphere has always been much appreciated by our families and visitors and is an important characteristic of our camp’s identity. Our goal is to provide children with top quality language lessons and diverse activities for a fulfilling summer experience, and to offer an outstanding service for both children and parents. LOCATION Auersperg-International Summer Camp is held in a genuine Tyrolean farmhouse. It is situated in the idyllic plateau of “Wildschönau”, surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Kitzbüheler Alps Mountain range. Its rural location offers the perfect setting for a holiday speeded in language learning and is the ideal starting point for a wide range of action-packed outdoor activities and fun adventures. The camp is easy to reach - located only an hour east from the city of Innsbruck and 45 minutes from the renowned village of Kitzbühel. Our 8 year old daughter enjoyed this camp over the 2025 summer - we only booked her for one week and she begged to stay for the second week! This was her first overnight camp experience and, as we were coming from the United States, we were anxious about whether it would be a good fit. Needless to say, she loved it regardless of the fact that she couldn’t speak German (she’s learning!). I’m writing this review as I hope it helps other parents coming from the States. We took a leap of faith with this camp and we weren’t disappointed.

Screen time policy
The camp asks children and parents to hand all electronic devices to camp staff on arrival. From the second day onward, campers may use their phones at a set time in the afternoon to call parents and relatives, and a camp phone is provided for children who do not have their own. Parents can reach the camp organisers at any time during the session.

The camp includes full board accommodation, provided in a lovely traditional Tyrolean farmhouse. Your children will be accommodated in 3-6 shared bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Children will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together with the family and the camp staff. Nutrition: We serve home-cooked meals only. All meals are freshly prepared daily. Pickup service · We offer an accompanied transfer service to and from Vienna Airport, Vienna Main Station, Salzburg Main Station, and Innsbruck Main Station, available for an additional charge. On departure day, children will be accmpanied to the airport, and our staff will assist with the check-in procedures.

Driving to camp in Oberau
Families arriving by car drive up to the traditional Tyrolean farmhouse on the Wildschönau plateau, surrounded by the Kitzbüheler Alps.
