Activities

Special focus

Spanish · Languages

The shape of the week is simple and consistent: Spanish every weekday morning from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, twenty lessons a week in classes of no more than twelve students, then an organised activity every afternoon and a full-day outing at the weekend. Teenagers take a level assessment before classes begin and are placed in a group that matches their Spanish, from absolute beginner to advanced, which is why beginners have their own fixed start dates. Activities are not electives to be picked and dropped; they run Sunday to Friday, are included in the price and are treated as part of the programme, because they are where the language stops being schoolwork and becomes conversation with peers from a dozen countries. Monitors intentionally mix new arrivals with students already in Valencia so groups keep re-forming rather than freezing, and residence students are accompanied by supervisors around the clock. AIP is direct with parents about the spirit of the programme: it is a language and culture immersion that expects punctuality and a positive attitude, not a party summer. What makes it distinctive is the city itself, used daily as the classroom, from the beach courses to the historic centre.

We chose the host family option and were very happy with Pilar. She was welcoming and patient, and our daughter felt comfortable from the first day. It was a great way for her to practice Spanish in a natural environment.

The combination of classes and activities worked well for my son. He mentioned Moises as one of his favorite teachers and really appreciated the friendly atmosphere. He made friends and enjoyed his time in Valencia. Highly recommend!

Our daughter loved it and still talks about her time in Valencia. The best summer gift we could give our son and ourselves.
