Teen Camp is an English Summer School programme where youngsters from all over the world come together to improve their English and have a great time! Accommodation: Assumburg Castle is the wonderful home to our Teen Camp. The castle is enchantingly situated in a green area with beautiful French gardens. The bedrooms are in the castle. All rooms have a private bathroom. The castle's restaurant serves all meals. And these meals are good!!! After TeenCamp you can really say that you have lived in a castle! The castle is situated close to the beach and it only takes 30 minutes to Amsterdam. Grammar & Vocabulary: Every day 4 hours are spent on grammar and vocabulary. Specific parts of English grammar are elaborated intensively. Our specialised teachers explain everything in detail. Within the small groups there is enough room for individual explanation. The English language is known for its nuances. A broad vocabulary is desirable in order to be able to make a nuanced choice of words. Communication & Presentation: Interaction is perhaps the most difficult part of the English language. All factual knowledge is used in the communication. The knowledge gained during grammar & vocabulary lessons is used here. With the help of communication assignments, students are taught how to make the best use of their knowledge. In the lessons we also work towards a short presentation in English. Sports & Activities: The entire afternoon program consists of sports, fun and team building. The activities are mainly focused on fun and team effort. Exercise is of course also very healthy. The activities also offer the possibility to use English in a relaxed way. Evening programme: After dinner there is mainly time for relaxation. There is plenty of time to relax with the other participants in or around the castle or country house. Interactive games are played, film can be watched, participants give their presentations and there is also a colourful evening. Weekend programme in Amsterdam: We take the participants who stay for two weeks to Amsterdam during the weekend. On Saturday they get a surprising program there and in the evening they dine in the center of the city. After they have spent the night in Amsterdam, there is still plenty of time for shopping on Sundays. The group then returns to the castle to attend the start of the second week. Our staff is with the youngsters 24 hours a day.

Teen Camp runs on a clear rhythm that repeats through the week, so campers always know what comes next while every part of the day pushes their English a little further. Mornings belong to the classroom, with four hours a day spent on grammar and vocabulary and specific points of English given extra attention, all of it taught in English. Afternoons flip the energy: participants are put into teams for roughly four hours of sport, games and challenges where moving and laughing come first but communicating with teammates in English is the real aim. Evenings are deliberately relaxed, leaving time to hang out, play games, watch each other's presentations and take part in the camp's variety night. Because English is the only language of the camp and the staff gently keep campers speaking it among themselves, learning happens as much on the sports field and at the dinner table as in the lessons. The week builds towards a festive finish with a graduation, a performance and a certificate, and two-week campers also get a city trip to Amsterdam along the way.

I went to Teen Camp for two weeks in August. It was super fun. The lessons in the mornings were sometimes difficult, but that really improved my English. The activities after lunch were always so much fun. I will never forget the afternoons on the beach, blow carting is sensational. Food at the castle is also great. I'll be back in summer 2020, together with my friend.

My daughter Elif (14y) and my cousin Deniz (13y) had so much fun at Teen Camp. So good to see children from all around the world together at a beautiful place in Holland. It has been a great experience for them to be together with different cultures and nationalities. We are very grateful to the staff. The good lessons in the mornings and the lovely caring guidance during the rest of the day (and sometimes nights as well....) Great job!

Our children Thomas (14) and Celina (12) had a wonderful time at Teen Camp. They for two weeks at Assumburg Castle. This beautiful place was an experience itself. Besides tje improvements of their English language skills, we were really impressed by the solidarity that was created in just two weeks. Even now, 4 months later, they are still in contact with the other participants. Thank you Teen Camp Staff!
