The day has a clear and reassuring shape: three hours of English in the morning with classes of no more than ten students streamed across five levels, then the whole group leaves the Lough Arrow campus for the afternoon to put that language straight to work outdoors, followed by a short homework slot before dinner and a relaxed evening programme back on campus. Courses take a maximum of 45 students with no more than 15 from any one country, and Irish teenagers join the international students for activities, meals and the weekend excursion, so English is the only realistic way to communicate from the first day. Activities are run by leaders assigned according to their own expertise, and teachers deliberately front-load the vocabulary students will need for the afternoon, which means the learning does not stop when the classroom door closes. Evenings are gentler by design, with board games, quizzes, English movie nights and ping pong tournaments against the teachers. With a two-week minimum stay and a small campus on the lake shore, the programme feels less like a timetable to survive and more like a household to belong to.

My daughter was at the camp in July 2024. The place is great! Apart from gaining that experience and confidence in speaking English she had unforgettable moments with the staff and the other kids through various activities. We had been in other camps previously and surely this one offered the most and my daughter keeps remembering those days dearly. Further, I visited personally; I could confidently say: our kids are in safe hands, surrounded by nature, clean and fresh air! Good job ELCi!

Totally recommend it, I met there lots of amazing people from different nationalities which gave me a chance to not only learn english through the natural way, but also to learn new culture. The staff interacts with students through various games and events and food is delicious ,,Especially when Mike cooks it". The camp was so good that as well me and my older siblings went there at least 2 times

With a maximum of 45 to 50 students on any course, the team genuinely knows every child by name, which is the foundation of the family atmosphere parents hear about in the feedback. All staff undergo police checks before they are allowed to work with minors, teachers are native speakers qualified by the Department of Education in Ireland, and activity leaders are trained in their own area of expertise and assigned only to those activities. A doctor is reachable 24 hours a day, seven days a week; EU citizens travel with a European Health Card and non-EU students with proof of travel insurance covering medical emergencies, and every student is insured against accidents. Travel is supervised from door to door: a named member of staff, confirmed to parents in advance, collects each student at the airport, and on departure a staff member stays at the airport until the flight has left. The grounds around the residence are safe and secure on the shore of Lough Arrow, and staff are experienced in helping homesick students settle, which is why families are asked to keep contact light for the first couple of days.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day in the residence dining room, with ingredients sourced locally because good health and nutrition matter as much here as the English lessons. Mornings start with a choice of cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, milk or hot chocolate, and croissants or biscuits appear between the two lessons, along with fresh fruit brought to the classrooms. Lunch is built around baguettes and pittas with a choice of fillings, a salad bar, pasta or soup, and in the evening the resident chef cooks a hot meal with two dishes to choose from, such as chicken with mango salsa, pork with apple sauce, meatballs in tomato sauce, salmon with steamed vegetables and potatoes or a vegetarian curry. Because teenagers on a full outdoor day are always hungry, toast, biscuits and fresh fruit stay available at any hour, and special dietary requirements are catered for.
