Activities

Special focus

English · Languages

Alphabet's programme is built as an authentic American summer camp transplanted to the Italian countryside, so the day moves between sports, games, crafts, theatre and outdoor challenges rather than sitting still in one activity. Everything happens in English with mother-tongue counsellors who take part alongside the campers, and with a 5:1 camper-to-counsellor ratio instructors are inside each activity rather than watching from the edge, which keeps every child involved from morning to evening. The intention is a 360-degree experience: alongside new skills, campers build independence, make friendships across nationalities, strengthen how they communicate and learn what it takes to work as a team. Older campers aged 12 to 16 can pick the emphasis that suits them, with separate Outdoor Exploration, Sea Quest and Cultural Adventure streams. Running through all of it is the Alphabet Go Green initiative, which uses everyday camp life and environmental education to help campers understand their relationship with nature. The directors and instructors come from the US, the UK, Australia and Ireland, most of them working with Alphabet year-round as English teachers, and they design activities and cultural experiences pitched to the age and stage of the group in front of them.
