Residential German camp in Winterthur, Switzerland

SUMMER CAMPS: SWITZERLAND IN ALL ITS COLOURS Mountains, cities, rivers and lakes – the Swiss Boarding Schools Disentis & Zurich have a lot to offer young people from all over the world during the summer holidays. Our holiday camps last two weeks, one week in Disentis and one week in Winterthur/Zurich. The young people aged between 13 and 15 have a daily structure that gives them enough freedom to pursue their own interests and spend time with like-minded people. They have German or English language lessons in the mornings, and in the afternoons, we offer various activities and excursions. For example, the summer programme in the mountains includes hiking, mountain biking and climbing. The Grisons Alps offer variety, fun and action. In the city, a range of sports are available: football, handball, floorball, mountain/cross-country biking and much more. There is also a wide range of art and culture on offer. Participants are accommodated in the Swiss Boarding Schools Disentis & Zurich boarding houses. Supervision and all meals are included in the price. Numbers are limited per nationality per camp to make for a truly diverse international experience.

Before going, my 12-year-old son said he would call us three times a day, but he ended up forgetting to call on some days because he was having so much fun. He especially enjoyed activities amidst Switzerland’s beautiful nature, made lasting friendships, and learned about the local culture, all within a safe environment. The hours of German language class during the camp were optimal, providing a perfect balance with other activities. The registration and planning process was smooth, with great attention to detail, making it stress-free for us as parents. It was a memorable experience he will never forget. Highly recommended for any parent considering a well-rounded camp for their child!

I attended this summer camp in July last 2024. It is a very memorable experience with many people in the camp. Most were Asians while some were European. I stayed one week in the mountain campus and one week in the city campus, I much prefer the mountain campus as it’s really big and allows you to explore around the mountains, the city campus however is not as great because we had to take a bus to the school which was very inconvenient, the school for the city campus is also really small which could be improved. The food was okish but you have to adjust to the taste because it was very salty for every meal, they did have some good food on a few days which I rly liked but still found a bit salty. Overall I really enjoyed the trip it with many fun activities everyday and the mountains was my favorite part of it. Food is abit salty but is bearable. The mountain campus is really big while the city is really small.

). In due settimane è possibile allargare i propri orizzonti. Nostra figlia è tuttora in contatto con amici conosciuti a Disentis, che vivono oltre Oceano. Sicuramente un’esperienza da consigliare a tutti.

This past July, my son attended a camp organized by his school. He said that the two weeks flew by because he had so much fun and enjoyed all the activities. He also felt safe and comfortable throughout the camp.

Mobile Phone Policy At our summer & winter camps, we prioritize creating an immersive and engaging experience for all campers. To foster meaningful connections and encourage participation in camp activities, we have a structured mobile phone policy: Limited Use: Mobile phones must be kept in a designated area during language lessons and overnight and may only be used during specific times outlined by the camp schedule, such as designated “phone time” to connect with family. Communication with Parents: We understand that parents may want to stay in touch with their children. To facilitate this, we have established communication channels that allow for regular updates from camp staff to parents, as well as scheduled times when campers can check in with their families. Encouraging Engagement: By limiting phone use, we encourage campers to engage fully with their peers and participate in the activities without distractions. This approach helps campers form lasting friendships and fully immerse themselves in the camp experience.
