Why we love it

Good to know

Overview

1) INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIPS: Children from over 40 different countries enjoy the true highlight of our camp - life-long international friendships. Due to the unique welcoming environment at Explorer Camps, the small groups continually focus on forming strong bonds ensuring that ALL children feel that special Explorer spirit and friendship.

2) EMPATHETIC APPROACH: At the heart of our Explorer family is our special 'home away from home' feel which creates a truly welcoming, loving and accepting environment led by loving staff who encourage children to step outside of their comfort zones and try something new all the while being fully immersed in English. These staff led challenges ensure our campers leave better prepared for life with greater resilience, self-confidence, and increased life skills which ultimately leads to happier children.

3) OUTDOOR ELECTRONIC FREE FUN: Our electronic free outdoor adventure camp focuses on learning through the outdoors with activities including rafting, stand up paddling, paintball, on-site water park, zip lining, kayaking, archery, paragliding etc. While these activities are utilised to maximise our campers’ time in the outdoors away from their screens, they are also used as tools for our experienced staff to boost our campers’ mental health through a wide range of proactive protective factors.

4) INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION: Explorer Camps is broken up into smaller age specific groups of approximately 10 children, which empowers staff to create a truly personal, comfortable and English immersive environment that fosters togetherness and friendships. The Discoverers (6-9), Pioneers (10), Adventurers (11-12), Outlaws (13-14), Trailblazers (15), and Pathfinders (15+) all have group specific activities throughout the day that strengthens these personal bonds, and ensures a truly unforgettable experience for all of our Explorer families.

5) CHOICE: Children are able to tailor make their own experiences by creating their own daily schedules based on their individual needs, desires, strengths and interests. This ensures that they have choices about their own camp experience which builds independence, responsibility and ultimately self-satisfaction.

Activities

Choice is the key for Explorer campers as they can pick and choose between a multitude of incredible activities whether that be on land, in the air, or on / under the water.

Each day campers get supervised Downtime periods which add up to 3 hours in total. During these sessions they can chill out on our beach or enjoy the water park, or simply hang out with friends on their covered terraces.

The Afternoon Choice is all about campers deciding what they want to do, with at least 10 different daily alternatives including water sports, team games, cooking, building, arts & crafts etc. which means each and every child has something amazing to choose to do!

Our lake has a wide range of lake activities including SUPing, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing, swimming, and an incredible a water park. Away from the lake but on the water our 2-weekers enjoy mini-rafting and also aquatreking which is a combination of canyoning, swimming, and hiking.

Adding to this, Explorer Camps provides a range of activities away from the water all designed to stimulate our campers including hiking, two Adventure Parks, a cable car to a nearby mountain, paintball, archery, rock climbing, football, volleyball amongst others.

My daughter Vittoria has joined Explorer Kids’ Camp since the very beginning and she always loved it! The staff is amazing, they offer a range of great outdoor activities divided per age. If horse riding, swimming, climbing, biking or hiking don’t suit your kid, they organize also painting, cooking or handcrafting afternoons. The accommodation is very good and they also provide healthy meals. What I really appreciate is the care they all put into giving the kids a great experience, helping them grow independent and giving them good values. I would recommend this camp to parents, no doubt!

The Slovenian Summer Kids camp it has been an amazing experience for our son and for us. They have given them the confidence to meet new kids, communicate in a foreign language, and get trust on themselves, and all these in a very comfortable family environment.
Besides the English skills, socializing and the family feeling, which were very important for us, the way they make the kids be part of the camp, giving them the opportunity to choose and decide, were very important for our son. Next year he wants to be back.

“My two eldest sons went aged 15 and 17 years old. This is a challenging age for them with too much technology time and not enough quality time BUT this camp was exactly that. Lots and lots of healthy interaction, socializing, team building, leadership and personal building experiences. Highly recommend it. I come from a religious background where moral values are very important and I felt this camp truly portrayed this.”
