Accommodation

The facilities at Camp WeHaKee are exceptional. And, they are consistently clean and well maintained for each girl’s comfort and safety.

Our cabins are fully enclosed and spacious structures with space for up to 10 people. They are well lit and have excellent ventilation and are each equipped with a ceiling fan. They feature fully finished interiors with twin size beds.

Our shower houses are equipped with individual shower stalls (including a changing area) for each shower – you can shower and change in complete privacy. Each shower house is finished with pine paneling and skylights giving them a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And, they are professionally cleaned daily.

Built by legendary Notre Dame football coach, Knute Rockne in the 1920’s, the dining lodge (known as Sinsinawa Lodge) is a beautiful log hewn building that has been well maintained and preserved. The kitchen facilities have been completely modernized to provide professional food preparation and service. With an array of lakeside windows it provides a panoramic view overlooking Hunter Lake.

Although our waterfront on Hunter Lake provides for fun & comfortable swimming activities, our 40’ x 100’ heated pool provides space for competitive, synchronized or recreational swimming.

We have several court sport options including tennis (with two professional surface, fenced tennis courts), volleyball, basketball and badminton.

There are four stone-lined fire circles found at our camp. For Welcome Fires and Council Fires, we take the Chicagami Trail to the Teepee Fire Circle and share our final fire together at the end of each session at our waterfront fire ring.

‘The Point’ provides another fire ring where your cabin group may spend a night enjoying s’mores, banana boats and songs around the fire.

I know it’s a difficult decision to let your daughter go, BUT she WILL love WeHaKee camp! My daughter has been going for many years now and continues to request to go every year!!

The Brauns and their team are very organized and caring people that provide the campers with an amazing experience and an assortment of fun activities all day long. The girls learn so many valuable life lessons as they grow into independent young women; they come home exhausted, more mature and detoxed from electronics!! Thank you Bob, Maggie and team for all your hard work and perseverance every year to provide a beautiful fun safe place for the girls! We appreciate you!

Wehakee is the BEST camp. My daughter went for 2 weeks last year and 4 weeks this year and is going back next year for 4 weeks! She comes back happy, confident, and more mature. I can’t recommend it enough. If you are looking for a camp that focuses on female confidence and leadership growth along with TONS of fun, from water skiing to pottery to horseback riding, this is it!

Our daughter went to Camp WeHaKee this summer for the first time. She had a very positive experience. It’s a very welcoming environment in a beautiful north woods setting. She interacted with counselors and fellow campers from all over the country and the world! She spoke highly of the activities and meals.

Highly recommended summer camp! Beautiful place to spend 2, 4 or even 6 weeks away form the city and surrounded with an incredible landscape.

I traveled from Mexico all they way up there since I was 7 years old to attend as a camper for 5 years and then I went back as a counselor for another 6 summers, the best thing my parents could do for me, it was a great experience.

My daughter had a fantastic experience at WeHaKee camp for girls. She participated in multiply activities, got out of her comfort zone, and met some life long friends, The staff was fantastic in making her feel welcomed and making sure all the girls were included. My daughter wants to go back and can not wait until the summer season!
