For over 40 years, Bucksmore Education has been providing students with innovative and engaging academic short courses, centred around helping young people find and pursue their passions and ambitions. Our broad range of English language courses allow students to follow their own unique Bucksmore Journey that can complement and add value to their current school curriculum. Designed to develop and challenge students, our programmes offer a high-level of English language development and academic content, ranging from industry insights to university preparation that students can use to help them progress towards their future education and career goals.

Activities
Outside of class, students practice English through a variety of fun activities. These activities are designed to help students use their new language skills in social situations and make new friends. Our courses include a full range of activities, so there’s always something interesting happening. Our goal is for every student to try something new during their course. All our courses include many high-quality excursions where students can practice the language they’ve learned in class. These excursions are included in the course fees, so there are no extra charges, even for activities like going to see a West End theatre show! Each course is balanced with lessons, activities, and excursions to give students a taste of life in the UK while improving their speaking and understanding of everyday English. Students enjoy a packed activity schedule along with two full-day and one half-day excursion each week. Each week, students go on full-day excursions to London and another destination. They also have a half-day excursion to a nearby place.

Language lessons
For those embarking on a language-learning journey or for undergraduates preparing for the IELTS examination as a prerequisite for their UK university studies, Bucksmore is one of the most sought-after providers for English language courses. These courses are expertly designed to help students make maximum improvement in their language skills through an interactive and engaging curriculum. Students can also choose from a range of additional topics to combine with English lessons, including STEM, coding, adventure skills, and veterinary science.
Accommodation & facilities
Bucksmore operates from world-renowned venues such as University of Oxford, King's College London, and prestigious boarding schools based in Oxford and East Sussex. Students studying on our courses will stay in twin or single occupancy dorm rooms, separated by gender on each floor, equipped with an en suite and dedicated private bathrooms, a single bed, desk, storage space, lockable safe and wardrobe. Towels and bedding are provided, with regular housekeeping services. Students in London and Oxford will be close to shops, restaurants and all that the city centre has to offer, while the students in Brighton will stay on a stunning 80,000-square metre enclosed campus with modern teaching facilities, including state- of-the-art laboratories and newly furnished boarding houses.

I had such a great time there. I met alot of new friends. Everyone was very kind and every day we had fun. Thank you Bucksmore for an amazing experience.
We paid over £6,000 for Bucksmore’s 2-week Young Professionals programme at King’s College London and unfortunately it fell well below expectations.
• The accommodation was unbearably hot (30°C+), Bucksmore didn’t provide any fans nor was there any form of ventilation in the room. They told us there were fans (FOR SALE despite the £6,000 fee) AFTER the program, after he had to endure the heatwave. Our son had to leave the bathroom light on so that the exhaust would run the whole night!
• The food quality and variety were very poor: many students were famished and had to buy extra food from supermarkets and fast food restaurants just to supplement. How do they expect students to think straight when they cannot have a good night’s sleep and are starving?
• Our son wasn’t able to exchange money at the airport due to his age. When we asked Bucksmore to assist, it took a whole week with several follow ups just to get it done. Our son didn’t have any money for half of the camp, he couldn’t buy food even if he was starving, or pay for anything during the excursions. That’s the type of communication and assistance Bucksmore extends.
• The excursions were mostly long walks to free museums with little engagement.
• The academic feedback (the main thing we are paying for) was minimal. Just one combined feedback from 2 main subjects taken over 2 weeks.
Our son enjoyed making friends and learned something from the classes, but overall the experience did not justify the premium price. We have put our 3 kids in several camps but Bucksmore’s was the most disappointing and the least value for money. To top it off, when we brought up the issues, Bucksmore dismissed our concerns and was very defensive rather than acknowledging any shortcomings or offering a goodwill gesture. We do not recommend this programme based on our experience.
My stay with Bucksmore was absolutely perfect! The counsellors were all very welcoming and made sure that everybody had a great time. The classes were very interesting and I really appreciate that we were only 11 students in each class. The best part was how I got the chance to eet so many nice people from various countries.
