Q&A
The camp is led by an experienced Camp Director and senior leadership team, supported by Activity Leaders, House Parents, Teachers, and Residential Staff. Clear lines of responsibility and communication ensure consistent supervision throughout the day, during activities, excursions, and in boarding houses. Students are supervised 24/7 by trained staff.
All staff are carefully selected and must meet high professional standards. Academic staff hold relevant teaching qualifications or subject expertise, while activity and residential staff have appropriate experience working with children and young people. Key roles require recognised first aid and safeguarding certifications.
Yes. All staff undergo comprehensive background and reference checks in line with Swiss regulations and international safeguarding best practice. This includes criminal record checks and verification of previous employment before any staff member is permitted to work with students.
All staff participate in a compulsory pre-camp training programme covering safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, behaviour management, and emergency procedures. Ongoing briefings and supervision take place throughout the camp to ensure standards remain consistently high.
St. George’s International School is proud of its inclusive, international community. Our camp welcomes students from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds. We actively promote respect, tolerance, and equality, ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and supported.
All students and staff are required to follow a clear code of conduct based on mutual respect, responsibility, and safety. Anti-bullying policies, safeguarding guidelines, and clear behavioural expectations are communicated at the start of the camp. Any concerns are addressed promptly and professionally by the leadership team.
Mobile phone use is managed to encourage healthy social interaction and full participation in camp life. Usage is allowed during designated times, while phones are not permitted during lessons, activities, or at night. This policy helps students remain engaged, present, and well-rested.

I always bring back with me good memories from each summer at St. George’s summer camp.
There is always a new thing to learn every day in the camp. My favourite activity is programming robots!
There was a positive ambience in the camp. I liked the clear and energetic ways of teaching used by the monitors.
