Overview

The Altitude Camp is an international summer camp in Switzerland offering the feeling of a home away from home. Kids develop new skills and confidence in a safe environment. Daily outdoor adventures and optional English language lessons will encourage your children to build friendships across different nationalities with fellow campers from all around the world. Your kids will learn important life skills lasting well beyond their summer of fun providing them with life memories. Choosing from a residential camp or a day camp, kids have a huge range of activities in Switzerland. Our summer camps are designed with an international audience in mind, offering language campers regular English language lessons and immersion. All language lessons are taught by our Native speakers. Alternatively, mountain adventure campers will explore the natural environment that Switzerland offers, working on teamwork, and leadership and enjoying the fresh mountain environment. The rest of the day for all campers is a varied program of sports, creative activities, and excursions to inspire and delight the campers. Activities are designed to be engaging and natural, feeling less like a classroom environment. We aim to make the most of the local community and environment to build confidence. Our residential summer camps allow kids of 7-14 to join an adventure in the alps they’ll never forget! Living with new friends of different nationalities, they’ll make new memories whilst developing self-confidence and independence away from the family home. Our highly trained and experienced team ensure children are settled and supported throughout their time at summer camp, creating a home from home atmosphere from day one. Our Verbier day camps are a fantastic way for kids to experience camp life whilst on holiday with family. Kids of 3-5 can join our morning Marmot sessions to introduce them gently to the wonder of the outdoors. 6-14 year olds can get involved with morning mountain adventure activities or English lessons. In the afternoon they combine with the rest of the group to play sports, do creative activities and make friends with their fellow campers.

  1. Best wishes and many thanks for a great time you’ve organised for the boys! The camp absolutely matched expectations and the boys are still very excited about their trip. They enjoyed many things about the camp.
The staff – they said that the staff were amazing and they felt very comfortable, like they are all very old friends or one big family. They liked the staff in general, but most of all they liked Alex and Ross who were very helpful and always around.
The excursions – Matvey said that he saw one of the most beautiful views he’s ever seen when they went to mountains and they also liked all the other excursions and activities.
They liked the positive atmosphere in the camp and that everybody was very friendly – staff and other children.
Matvey also said that this trip opened the whole world to him and now he has friends from all over the world and can talk to them via the internet, and he also learned a lot about different cultures, which has changed his point of view a lot. The boys are very impressed with the beautiful nature they have seen there

  2. My children Géraldine and Emmanuel were at the camp last week. I am in Verbier all the time (we live in Geneva) so I know the Altitude ski school and last summer I had noticed children in an Altitude group. They enjoyed it and I thought it was great. What I liked most about it:
    1) the fact that English was spoken all the time and that the instructors insisted on it (my son’s English improved in one week!). This is a strength for me and the main reason I would want them to do it again, perhaps even longer than a week.
    2) I also found the activities that were proposed really interesting i.e the various visits/outings, the sports and the mountain activities such as building tents (this is what my daughter preferred).
Finally all the staff were very nice and friendly and seem to genuinely like children

  3. We would sincerely like to thank you for the care and teaching provided to Anastasia during her stay at your summer camp!
Thanks to your professional approach on training, it is with pleasure and high incentive that Anastasia attended each lesson. Reaching out individually to every student opened her hidden talents and abilities, and alongside your remarkable teaching, students can grow to being determined individuals focused on obtaining new knowledge.
We wish you continued success in discharging high standards of education

Q&A

We have many health and safety measures in place from strict staff ratios and risk assessments to procedures in the event of an accident. We have an in-depth health and safety section of our staff manual, and this is covered in our staff training week every summer.
The teacher to student ratio is 1:8 or 1:4 for 3-5 years

All campers enjoy a ratio of 1:8 with our counselors and we have a Day Camp Manager and Residential Camp Manager to ensure smooth running at all times.
Our Operations Manager is also available as are 2 of our Directors.

All staff must have relevant experience for their role as a counselor and many work for us on a year round basis working as ski instructors in the winter time and camp counselors during summer time. Many of the team have worked for us for many years.

Yes, all counselors have a criminal record check.

We run an intensive training week every season refreshing everyone’s knowledge and updating procedures and protocols.

We welcome children from all over the world and celebrate all cultures and nationalities.

The camp still needs to provide this information. Please get in touch with them through this page to request more info.

We allow mobile phones during free time 4:00-6:00pm.

This camp was founded in 2008.
