Kollo på Barnens Ö is run by the Swedish foundation Stiftelsen Barnens Dag, which operates 23 camp farms (kollogårdar) for children in grades 1 to 9, some traditional and some with a stated focus such as theatre, film, animals or expedition. Places are allocated on behalf of the foundation's public commissioners, and applications are open to children registered in the City of Stockholm, Nacka or Solna. Every camp leader is at least 20 years old, has experience working with children and young people, and provides a criminal records extract before being employed.
