Provider — How World Camps Works

Insurance Requirements for Camps

Updated 7 Sept 2026

To take bookings on World Camps you must hold, and evidence, insurance that is adequate for your programme. This page summarises what is required and how proof fits into the booking-approval process. It is guidance, not legal advice — Section 24 of the Provider Terms is the binding text, and your own broker or insurer can advise on the right cover for your activities.

WHAT COVERAGE YOU NEED

At a minimum, you must hold cover in these categories:

  • Public liability insurance, covering third-party bodily injury and property damage arising from your programme activities.
  • Participant accident and personal injury insurance, covering all enrolled participants for the duration of programme activities.
  • Employers' liability or workers' compensation insurance, meeting the statutory requirements of the jurisdiction(s) where your staff are engaged.
  • Any additional insurance required by law, local licensing authorities, or regulators where your programme runs.

HOW MUCH COVER IS ENOUGH

Coverage limits must be adequate and proportionate to the nature and scale of your programme — the number of participants, the activities involved, and the legal environment where you operate. Your cover must meet or exceed the highest of: the statutory minimums in your jurisdiction, any binding minimum World Camps publishes for your market or activity category, and what is commercially reasonable for your programme. Where World Camps publishes market-specific minimums, you will be given reasonable advance notice and a timeframe to comply. Policies must be placed with reputable, licensed insurers.

WHEN WE ASK FOR PROOF

Taking bookings requires an approved booking application. Submitting it has one hard prerequisite: two documents on file — your business registration and your proof of liability insurance. Upload both in your dashboard; our team reviews them together with your application. A document that is still pending review does not block your submission, but a rejected one (for example unreadable, expired, or issued to a different entity) must be re-uploaded before your application can be approved. The payment-provider onboarding is separate and can run in parallel — checkout goes live once both are complete.

KEEPING IT CURRENT

  • Notify us within 5 business days of any material change to, lapse in, or cancellation of a required policy.
  • Obtain replacement coverage promptly after any lapse, and tell us when it is reinstated.
  • Provide fresh evidence of coverage whenever we ask for it.

Failing to maintain adequate insurance is a material breach of the Provider Terms and can lead to immediate suspension of your listings until coverage is reinstated and evidenced. Coverage must be maintained throughout your time on the platform and for three years after.

Good to know: a certificate of insurance from your insurer or broker is usually the easiest evidence to upload — most issue one on request within a day or two.
