ACS Athens is a K-12 American international school in the northern Athens suburb of Chalandri, founded in 1945 as the British Army School, renamed the Anglo-American School in 1949 and known since 1954 as the American Community Schools of Athens. It teaches in English following an American curriculum, serves a student body of 56 nationalities with a 9:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and has been an IB World School since 1976. Alongside its academic year the school runs after-school sports academies and its summer camp, which was originally created in the 1970s and re-launched in 2006 as a programme open to the whole community, drawing young people from across the Attica region onto its campus.
