Activities

Special focus

French · Languages

The week is built in two halves that suit children differently. Mornings are personalised: each camper chooses a focus and sticks with it, whether that is a basketball, tennis or golf camp with specialist coaches, or fifteen hours a week of English or French lessons in small groups with native-speaking teachers. Afternoons and evenings then belong to the shared programme, where a new experience is scheduled every single day, moving from watersports on Lake Geneva to alpine hikes, cultural visits and team challenges designed to build teamwork and leadership. Evenings keep the group together with sports competitions, karaoke, campfires and barbecues at the Boarding House, so the friendships made during the day continue after dinner. With no more than 30 campers at a time and stays running Sunday to Saturday for one week or several, the atmosphere stays small and family-like, and the whole programme is deliberately framed around personal growth and life skills rather than just filling the day.

Safety & Supervision

Round-the-clock supervision by the boarding house team
Qualified and experienced bilingual staff
Small camp of up to 30 campers with individual attention
Experienced alpine guides for mountain activities
Local professionals leading watersports on Lake Geneva

Campers live inside a working international boarding school, which means the safe, familiar routines of the Haut-Lac Boarding House rather than an improvised summer set-up. The boarding house team provides round-the-clock supervision, and because the camp deliberately stays small, welcoming up to 30 campers at a time, every child is known individually and receives personal attention and care. Staff are qualified, experienced and bilingual, so children can be looked after in English or French, and the more technical parts of the programme are handed to specialists: experienced alpine guides in the mountains and local watersports professionals on Lake Geneva.

Screen time policy

The camp keeps children busy from breakfast through to lights out at 21:00, so screens naturally take a back seat to activities, excursions and evening games. The one connectivity detail Haut-Lac states is that unlimited Wi-Fi is available at the Boarding House, which makes it straightforward for campers to check in with family during free time in the late afternoon and evening. No further device restrictions are published, so parents with specific concerns should confirm the house rules with the boarding team.
