Expanish Barcelona Summer Camp

Course Cancellations – For cancellations received 30 days or more in advance of the program start date, Expanish will refund minus 250€ cancellation fee. – For cancellations received between 30 and 15 days in advance of the program start date, the student will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to 50%of total reservation – For any cancellation received less than 15 days before the start of the program, on or after the program start date, there is no refund. Payments – Final payments must be received in full one month prior to the program start date. – Payment instructions are provided with the invoice. – The payer is responsible for all bank and transaction fees. Refunds – Any refunds due will be paid to the original payer. – The financial cost of 5% of the refund will be automatically taken out of the amount refunded of all refunds. – In the event that a refund is due, prorated refunds will be calculated on a weekly basis.

Students will be supervised by Expanish staff and activity leaders who have experience working with children and coordinating groups. All staff have passed a background check. 1:15 staff-student ratio All class and activity attendance is compulsory Students may not go out at night unsupervised 11 pm curfew every day 24/7 supervision at the student residence Expanish staff live at the residence with students 24/7 emergency helpline Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are prohibited. Possession or consumption will result in immediate expulsion from the program without refund. Any extra costs incurred must be paid by the student (transfer, new flight, escort service for minors, etc.).

There’s a Center Director, a residence advisor who lives with students, a group of leaders who goes with students to the activities (1/15 students) and a pull of teachers who teach spanish every morning M-F. Supervision 24/7.

Requirements:
Confident, fun, positive, and empathetic personality.
Previous experience working with children and teenagers, preferably in a camp or educational setting.
Barcelona local.
Native or bilingual Spanish speaker.
Advanced level of English.
Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
Knowledge of Barcelona, its culture and history.
Ability to lead recreational and educational activities.
Able to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Team player with adaptability to dynamic environments.
First aid certificate (mandatory).
Updated criminal record certificate with no offenses of a sexual nature (mandatory).
Have the certificate of Monitor de Actividades de Tiempo Libre Infantil y Juvenil (recommended).

There are several sessions prior to the summer camp to train the staff involved in the program, with a clear focus on roles and responsibilities (Center Director, teachers, monitores, and residence advisors). In addition, the team receives a “Summer Camp Guide” containing all relevant information about the program. Among these sessions, we conduct a Health & Safety (H&S) session to better prepare the staff.

We activate dynamics with the group as soon as the summer camp starts. We have a comprehensive orientation where we highlight respect and support diversity and inclusion practices.
